16. Donar sangre es donar vida |Testimonio
El 14 de junio se celebra el Día Mundial del Donante de Sangre, en este episodio conoceremos a Viviana Cubillo una paciente del Hospital San Juan de Dios que tiene drepanocitosis, una enfermedad genética que afecta los glóbulos rojos, estos normalmente tienen una forma de disco, pero en este caso es semilunar, esto hace que se obstruyan los vasos sanguíneos, lo que genera mucho dolor y lesiones en los órganos. Viviana puede tener una mejor calidad de vida, porque cada mes le transfunden ocho unidades de glóbulos rojos. En el Hospital San Juan de Dios se transfunden mensualmente entre 1200 y 1400 unidades de sangre, esto es posible gracias a los 900 donantes que visitan el Banco de Sangre cada mes. 15. COVID-19 | Secuelas poscovid
<p>El 8 de junio del 2021, el Ministerio de Salud confirmó un total de 333. 820 casos de covid-19 en Costa Rica, desde que se reportó el primer caso el 6 de marzo del 2020. Algunas personas han presentado secuelas poscovid y otras no. En este episodio tres especialistas del hospital San Juan de Dios amplían este tema. Ellos son parte del equipo de rehabilitación que da seguimiento a los pacientes después del egreso. Participan la doctora Milena Molina Astúa, médico fisiatra; la licenciada Fabiola Arroyo Segura, terapeuta respiratoria y al licenciado Rodolfo Hidalgo Vargas, terapeuta físico.</p>
