Welcome to Hot Mess Car Medium. The podcast for the mom who's late to school pickup, forgot to defrost something for dinner, and also maybe just received a message from someone's dead grandma.
Yeah. We're that kind of show.
I'm Janet. ADHD mom, Reiki Master Teacher, medium, and certified overthinker. I talk to dead people, I forget where I put my keys, and somehow both of those things are equally true and equally mine.
This podcast is for the moms who are deeply spiritual AND deeply scattered. Who light palo santo and also lose their phone in their own house three times a day. Who are trying to regulate their nervous system while simultaneously managing a family, a to-do list, and a very loud inner knowing that keeps saying hey, there's more for you than this.
You're not broken. You're not too much. You're just neurodivergent and plugged in to something bigger than a productivity system can hold.
Here we talk about mediumship, Reiki, ADHD, the absolute chaos of conscious parenting, and what it actually looks like to build a spiritual practice when your brain works the way ours does. No wellness speak. No toxic positivity. No pretending we have it together.
Just real conversations, real stories, real woo, and the occasional message from the other side delivered in a school car park. Pull up a chair. Or a car seat. Either works.

What if dementia isn't a disease of forgetting — but a slow, sacred transition into something we don't have a 3D frame of reference for yet?
In this episode, Janet shares two readings that completely shifted how she thinks about dementia, consciousness, and what it means to be "here."
First: the story of Ligia, a woman living with dementia in Colombia who reached out mid-text-reading to correct Janet's pronunciation and deliver a message to an old neighbor.
Then: a second reading where a client's grandmother — not yet diagnosed but trending that way — showed up with very specific instructions and a thank you for the Easter tough love.
What unfolded from both of those experiences is a theory Janet is still sitting with: what if dementia patients aren't losing their grip on reality, but loosening their grip on this timeline so they can visit others? What if your grandma remembering her babies as babies isn't confusion — but her literally being back in 1955, raising them?
And what if we treated it that way?
In this episode:
What the Telepathy Tapes taught Janet about connecting with dementia patients (and the husband who cut caretaking time by two thirds once he started listening)
The Ligia story — how a woman in Colombia, still alive, reached out through a text reading and corrected Janet's Bad Bunny reference
A second reading: a grandmother who isn't diagnosed yet, but had a lot to say anyway
The willing suspension of disbelief we owe our loved ones who are leaving slowly (Jurassic World in heels said what it said)
Why those with degenerative diseases might actually adapt faster on the other side — because they've been practicing

What Safety Actually Feels Like In Your Body (Because Nobody Talks About This Part)
I Googled "what does safety feel like in your body" and found nothing.
So here's me — sitting in my car, slightly shooketh, completely convinced — trying to describe it for the first time ever.
After years of fight or flight. After the diagnosis. After all the work that felt like it was going nowhere.
It landed. And I needed you to hear what that actually feels like — because if you're in the middle of the work and wondering if it's ever going to arrive, this one's for you.
This is what we're working toward.

I Did All The Work
If you've ever thought "I think we're all just pretending to have it together" — this one's for you.
In this episode, I'm sitting down and telling you the whole story. The undiagnosed ADHD kid who was too sensitive, worked twice as hard to look half as put together, and spent years thinking she just wasn't smart enough.
I take you through all of it:
Growing up hypervigilant and emotionally exhausted without knowing why
Teaching while running on fumes and daily naps just to survive
Postpartum depression that was actually a dopamine crash nobody caught
Grief that hit different — because ADHD brains don't process time the way neurotypical brains do
The Instagram rabbit hole that finally cracked it open
The diagnosis that made me say "holy shit, this explains my entire life"
And everything I did after — therapy, meds, hypnotherapy, shadow work, Reiki, Akashic records — all of it
I also talk about the 4/7 rule — the framework that finally gave me permission to stop expecting perfection from myself as a mom. Seven days. Four wins. That's the championship.
This episode is for the late-diagnosed adult who's been calling it anxiety, depression, or just being bad at life. It's not that. You've been raw-dogging an ADHD brain with tools that were never made for you.

How Gerald Used to Block My Downloads
Your nervous system might not be broken.
Your receiver might just be overloaded. ❄️🦦
In this episode of Hot Mess Car Medium, Janet dives into the snow globe vs. Etch-a-Sketch metaphor that completely changed how she understands ADHD, intuition, emotional overwhelm, and spiritual connection.
Before understanding her nervous system, connecting to spirit felt like trying to find a needle in a haystack while someone actively shook the haystack. Panic sounded like intuition. Anxiety sounded like messages. And Gerald — the emotionally overprotective nervous system publicist — was filing emotional complaints nonstop.
This episode explores:
ADHD and nervous system regulation
intuition vs anxiety
“static vs signal”
spirituality through a neurodivergent lens
why regulation matters before spiritual clarity
Reiki and passive receiving
emotional overwhelm and sensitivity
practical nervous system tools that actually help
Janet also shares the framework that changed everything for her:
Regulate → Receive → Interpret
Because you cannot clearly download when the publicist is having a breakdown.
✨ If your nervous system feels loud lately, Janet created an app called I Need a Minute with grounding tools, nervous system support, Spiritual Chaos Translator™, Brain HQ, breathing tools, and emotional regulation resources for overwhelmed humans.

Reiki: The Little Black Dress of Spirituality
You know the little black dress — the one that works for everything without thinking about it? Reiki is
that. For your soul.
In Episode 7, Janet breaks down what Reiki actually is, how it works, and why it's one of the only
healing tools built for ADHD nervous systems. No focus required. No belief required. You just show up
and lie down.
Also — her Reiki Master Teacher certificate is held together with sellotape and she has zero regrets.
Topics covered:
- What Reiki actually is (the radio frequency analogy)
- Common misconceptions answered honestly
- Why it works specifically for ADHD nervous systems
- Why every invisible thing was dismissed before it changed everything.

Dead People in my DMs
Nobody really explains how mediumship actually works. They just say "I received a message" and leave you wondering what that even means. In this episode, Janet breaks down the actual mechanics of how she receives, the images that flash like black and white photographs, the emotions that hit like a tsunami, the smells tied to specific people, the knowing that lives in her body before it reaches her brain, and the internal operation board that lights up and tells her where it hurts.
Spoiler: it's nothing like the movies. It's messier, more ordinary, and way more specific than that. And it's entirely hers.
If you've ever wondered what it actually feels like to be a medium, this one's for you.

What's in a Name?
Good Luna Healing didn't come from a branding session. There was no strategy deck, no mood board, no hired consultant.
It came from a maiden name and a married name sitting next to each other one day, and quietly becoming something more.
De Luna. Goodwin. The woman she was born as and the woman she grew into.
In this episode, Janet tells the full origin story of GoodLuna Healing — how three roads that looked completely unrelated (mediumship, Reiki, and nervous system support for ADHD brains) were always heading to the same place. How a medium named Kristin changed everything. How her guides didn't suggest the next step so much as shove her toward it. And why she stopped waiting to feel ready and just built the thing.
Also featuring: an eleven year old giving life advice she had no business giving, a surgery that defied expectations, and a grandmother who Janet is pretty sure had something to do with all of it.
This is where GoodLuna Healing began. 🖤🌙

Diagnosed, Delayed and Downloading Messages from the Dead
What happens when you spend most of your life not knowing your brain works differently, and then suddenly everything clicks? Janet gets into the ADHD diagnosis, the delayed everything, and the wild reality of trying to function in a neurotypical world while also quietly receiving messages from people who've crossed over. It's a lot. It's also kind of hilarious. 🥹

Grandma with the Morse Code Lights
The lights started flickering. Janet had no idea what morse code actually meant, and yet somehow she knew exactly what her grandma was saying. This is the episode where it got real. The first time Janet couldn't explain away what she was experiencing, couldn't chalk it up to coincidence, couldn't pretend she wasn't receiving something. Grab your coffee. This one gives goosebumps. 👀
