The "House of Bricks" podcast highlights the ETERNAL JOY found in Jesus Christ, testimonies from athletes, building a firm foundation, and what glorifying God looks like in our lives and our athletics.
In this episode, Elena Siekas, Concordia University soccer player shares how community, church involvement, and mentorship deeply shaped her walk with Christ. Though she grew up in a Christian home, the gospel truly penetrated her heart just four weeks before leaving for college. She was baptized two weeks before moving in as a freshman in 2023 — stepping into a new season still feeling the pull of the world and the tension between the wide road and the narrow road.
Midway through her freshman year, something clicked. What once felt like deep loneliness turned into peace as she realized she wasn’t alone. Through God’s grace, she began to understand that while the narrow road of following Jesus is hard, the reward is far greater.
This past summer marked a turning point. Surrounded by strong, Christ-centered community and intentional mentorship, Elena experienced refinement in a new way. Through discipleship, stepping into the mission field, studying Scripture, and getting involved in a church community that pushed her closer to the Lord, she has come to know God’s character more deeply.
Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of getting involved and allowing community and God's Word sharpen and shape your faith.

S2E6: From the World to Living a Life Sold Out for Jesus | Tim Stapleton
In this week’s episode, former Minnesota Gopher wrestler Tim Stapleton shares his testimony of transformation through faith in Christ. For years, Tim lived with “one foot in and one foot out” of his walk with Jesus—caught between the pull of the world and the call of God. It wasn’t until he fully surrendered his life to the Lord that he experienced true freedom and lasting change.
Tim unpacks how surrendering to Christ reshapes our desires to align with His, and how fully committing to a life following Jesus allows us to share in the promises and fruit of God. He emphasizes that living half for the world and half for Christ is ultimately a lose-lose, while wholehearted devotion brings joy, peace, and eternal hope.
Throughout the conversation, Tim also highlights the role of community, practical steps in daily surrender & discipleship, and the reality that transformation isn’t something we can achieve on our own—it’s only possible because of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross in our place.
This episode is an encouragement to anyone who feels stuck, anyone who is trying to live as an example of Christ, and a reminder that true life is found in full surrender to Jesus.

Benny shares how he could clearly see the Lord protecting him in combat and how, after returning home, the difficult road of trauma recovery and finding true community ultimately led him to surrender his life to Jesus.
