Back then, there were strict NCAA rules around what programs could give the players when it came to things like clothes or food. For instance, programs could provide some breakfast foods, but the condiments? The cream cheese rule. That's John Martinez, then a USC offensive lineman. we had to pay a quarter for the cream cheese to our bagels. It got to that point where it's like, man, we literally can't get condiments to our breakfast because of the NCAA violations.
