This week, Karl Bushby has finally made it onto UK soil and Bobby naturally has an opinion about it. He also manages to accidentally tip 50p after a steak at Miller & Carter, before we hear about a man at a Yorkshire zoo who learns the hard way that no, you cannot pet the cat.
In this week’s spooky Spin the Yarn, Sian takes us to Japan in the aftermath of the devastating 2011 tsunami, where survivors began reporting strange encounters with people who weren’t really there. Taxi drivers picked up passengers who simply vanished, while stories of spirits and the dead became intertwined with Japanese folklore and beliefs surrounding kami and yūrei.
In Load of Waffle, Bobby plays four versions of songs and Sian has to work out which singer is actually genuine.
Then the algorithm gets crunchy. Sian treats us to possibly the most satisfying leaf crunch ever recorded, while Bobby brings a very different kind of crunch involving a sexual mishap and a broken bag…

Ep 39 - The Hexham Heads
This week Sian’s already putting the Halloween decorations up, much to Bobby’s disgust. Bobby loses his wallet and somehow enters his Avatar state to locate it, before having possibly the most revolting experience yet — putting in a gumshield and realising it wasn’t his.
In Spin the Yarn, Bobby tells the creepy tale of the Hexham Heads — two small stone heads dug up by two boys, brought home, and followed by a string of strange paranormal happenings. Naturally, this sends us off on a tangent about horror films and what actually scares us.
In What Have You Got?, Sian makes Bobby blind-rank five things guaranteed to piss him off, without knowing what’s coming next.
Then the algorithm gets surprisingly wholesome with Sian’s latest obsession, Fetch My Camera… until Bobby inevitably lowers the tone with a grown man acting like a toddler — if the toddler was also a proper geezer.

Ep 38 - Super Massive Black Hole Stars
This week Bobby’s wife calls in with Mel’s Hole: Part 2, and somehow the story gets even more ridiculous. Another mysterious hole, a sheep lowered into it, a strange creature, burning ice and eventually… another bloody hole.
Then in Spin the Yarn, Sian takes us on a trip through space and time exploring supermassive black hole stars, some of the oldest black holes we can see, the ridiculous size of the universe and whether portals through space could actually exist. Scientific knowledge is limited, but speculation is absolutely thriving.
We finish with a surprisingly wholesome algorithm as Bobby brings some positive vibes and inspirational clips to the table.
