159. Behind the Scenes of 'Rock the Block' with the Winners of Season 4

This week, season 4 of "Rock the Block" came to a close and a new winning team was crowned. After six grueling weeks of construction and creativity, the fireworks flew and one duo of HGTV stars learned they had designed the best home on the block. Their win solidifies that good, authentic design absolutely adds value to a home, but what else made their property stand out from the rest? On this exclusive episode of "House Party" podcast, we sit down with the winners of season four to deep dive their design strategy, get real about their experience designing a 5,000-square-foot Colorado home in six weeks, and chat about their favorite house of the bunch (outside of theirs, of course). Click the player above to hear our guests get honest about the highs—and lows—of their "Rock the Block" journey. On the penultimate episode of "Rock the Block" Season 4, the teams set their sights and renovation budgets on their home exteriors. This week, they're tasked with overhauling the house siding, landscaping, backyard, and patio. In addition to all the other work they're putting into their exterior designs, they must also create a recreational activity area. 157. 'Rock the Block' Season 4 Episode 4: High Praise for This Week's Lower Level Renovations

Imagine having 1,500 square feet of walkout basement space to design to your heart's content. Would it be dedicated to family time, entertaining guests, or cultivating your physical and mental health? That was the big decision the four teams of HGTV designers had to make on this week's episode of "Rock the Block." Host Ty Pennington announces that the design duos will be tricking out the entire 1,500-square-foot lower level of their houses, and it's up to them to decide how to add as much style and appraised value to the space as possible. Creativity was at an all-time high and the designers turned out four impressive zones, but one team impressed judges Alison Victoria and Veronica Valencia the most and were crowned this week's winners. Who brought home the gold? Click the player above to hear our full recap of "Rock the Block" episode four.
