[…] Congress came back and went, no, no, no. And that led to the most notable thing, the Voting Rights Act. And the Voting Rights Act gave a lot of rules about how you could draw these districts. Then the courts got involved and there was court case after court case, like you're not doing it right, you're not doing it right. I should note the word gerrymandering comes from this Massachusetts governor who was known for drawing districts that helped his political interests. One of the Boston papers took one look at this and was like, ah, it's Governor Jerry's salamander, hence gerrymandering. And this is, again, 50 years ago. […]
