Associates vs Partners
A business partner typically involves shared ownership, decision-making, and financial responsibility in a business, while a business associate is someone who provides services or performs functions for a business, often without ownership or direct decision-making power.
What I mean is that, in a business context, a business partner typically shares ownership, responsibilities, and profits and losses, while an associate is not a part-owner.

This is Our Definition of a Business Associate
A business associate is someone you have nothing in common at least the need of make your both side successful . I mean making more and more money.
An associate is not your friends, it someone or a company you need to make great strategic move with an unbreakable coordination for a shared business outcome. As I use to say, we don't need to fall in love to work together, all we need is respect and a common goal so we can make it happen.
