Hoy En Día TV S5, Ep. 127 | Beyond the Uniform: Raymond Bentley’s Journey of Purpose and Reinvention

On the next episode of Hoy En Día TV, we welcome Raymond “The Sarge” Bentley, also known as Vely Brack, for an inspiring conversation about service, sacrifice, perseverance, and pursuing new dreams at every stage of life. Raymond dedicated more than 30 years to the United States Army, serving in several distinguished roles, including Airborne Ranger, Drill Sergeant, Infantry Leader, Fitness School Instructor, and Army recruiter. As a member of an elite group trained for some of the military’s most demanding missions, Raymond built a career defined by discipline, leadership, resilience, and service—all while navigating the responsibilities of fatherhood and family. After retiring from the Army, Raymond continued serving others as a fitness instructor and Army JROTC educator. But his journey did not stop there. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Raymond stepped into the world of acting, beginning with background roles before earning opportunities in independent films, television programs, and stage productions. His performance as Gideon in the apocalyptic film Dead by Tomorrow earned him the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 2022 International Film Festival, proving that it is never too late to discover a new passion and give it everything you have. Raymond is also an aspiring writer with several creative projects in development, including The Purple Ribbon, Uncle Noah, and Wright Is Right. His philosophy is simple but powerful: “I may never become a millionaire, but I refuse to look back and regret not giving it my all.” “Be yourself, then be somebody else.” “Never let them steal your joy.” Tune in for a motivating conversation about military service, fatherhood, education, acting, writing, reinvention, and the courage to continue chasing your purpose. Don’t miss Raymond “The Sarge” Bentley on the next episode of Hoy En Día TV!

Hoy En Día TV S5, Ep. 126 | Dr. Debora Keller returns: Persistence With Purpose, part 2

On this next episode of Hoy En Día TV, we welcome back Dr. Debora Keller for Part 2 of her powerful and inspiring story! A first generation scholar from Mayday, Georgia, Dr. Keller’s journey is a remarkable testament to perseverance, faith, resilience, and the courage to pursue purpose at every stage of life. After earning her GED in 1989, she spent nearly three decades working in food service and food service management before continuing her service to others as a home health aide for veterans and the elderly. In 2017, Dr. Keller began an eight year higher education journey at Keiser University. The challenges she encountered while transitioning into academia ultimately inspired her to conduct purpose driven research focused on student preparedness and success. Her doctoral work led to the creation of the Keller Pre Enrollment Preparedness Questionnaire, also known as KEPEQ. This proactive assessment is designed to help students and postsecondary institutions identify academic readiness, commitment, and potential barriers that may contribute to student attrition. Dr. Keller earned her doctorate in February 2026, and her dissertation was nominated for this year’s awards. Among 439 doctoral graduates, her research was recognized within a select group representing the top 9 percent. This incredible accomplishment reflects the quality, relevance, and potential impact of her work. She currently serves as a Senior Research Consultant at Thornbrooke.org (http://Thornbrooke.org) alongside Dr. Lewis Rowell, Ph.D., and tutors students in statistics using Jamovi through NowTutorFL.com (http://NowTutorFL.com). Now, she returns for Part 2 as we take a deeper look at the research behind KEPEQ, the barriers that can affect student success, and how institutions can become more proactive in supporting students before challenges lead them to walk away. Join us for another meaningful conversation about education, persistence, purpose, and Dr. Keller’s commitment to helping more students not only enter higher education, but remain, succeed, and complete their journey.

Hoy En Día TV S5, Ep. 125 | Christopher J. Whitehurst: Flavor, Service and Purpose

On this next episode of Hoy En Día TV, Now & Today, we welcome Christopher J. Whitehurst, Founder and CEO of CW Dressings, an award-winning, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned food company specializing in premium date fruit-infused sauces, dressings, and seasonings. A native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Christopher joined the United States Army in February 2001 and dedicated more than 20 years to military service. Throughout his distinguished career, he served in several leadership roles, including Senior Culinary Management Noncommissioned Officer, Enlisted Aide, Dining Facility Manager, Senior Drill Sergeant, and First Sergeant. While serving as an Army Master Sergeant at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Christopher founded CW Dressings in September 2020. The company was born from his passion for creating bold, sophisticated flavors using health-conscious and thoughtfully selected ingredients. As he prepared to retire from military service in 2021, Christopher pursued his lifelong dream of entrepreneurship. Inspired by the natural sweetness and nutritional qualities of Deglet Nour dates, he developed a unique line of products designed to elevate everyday meals while offering cleaner and more mindful ingredient options. Today, CW Dressings has grown from a small startup into a recognized specialty food brand available in more than 60 retail locations across the country, from the Carolinas to California. Its expanding product line includes award-winning favorites such as Date Balsamic Vinaigrette, Sweet Date Hot Sauce, Date Barbecue Sauce, and Date All-Purpose Seasoning. Christopher remains personally involved in every aspect of the company, from developing new products and hand-packing orders to attending farmers markets and building meaningful relationships with customers. His hands-on leadership reflects the values at the heart of CW Dressings: quality, innovation, service, authenticity, and community. Under his leadership, the brand has become known for creating upscale flavor experiences that make gourmet cooking approachable and accessible. Its mission is simple: to combine bold taste, natural ingredients, and culinary creativity in products that bring something memorable to every table. When customers support CW Dressings, they are supporting more than a food company. They are supporting a powerful story of military service, resilience, entrepreneurship, and the courage to transform a dream into a growing national brand. Join us for an inspiring conversation with Christopher J. Whitehurst about his military journey, the transition into entrepreneurship, the inspiration behind CW Dressings, and what it takes to build a business rooted in purpose, passion, and exceptional flavor.
