<p dir="rtl">ביום שישי, 6 באוקטובר, חגג דניאל שפרבר, לוחם בצוות בלון התצפית שהיה מוצב בנחל עוז יום הולדת 20, אמא שלו ואחיו נועם הגיעו למוצב כדי לשמח אותו. בלון התצפית היה תקול ומונח על הקרקע. בבוקר 7 באוקטובר נלחם דניאל בחירוף נפש יחד עם ארבעת חבריו לצוות מתוך מיגונית קטנה בכניסה למוצב נחל עוז מול עשרות מחבלים. כל חמשת חברי הצוות נפלו בקרב. הקרב על נחל עוז | העדות של מאיה בראון
<p dir="rtl">מאיה בראון היא אחת מארבע לוחמות רוכב שמיים ששירתו תחת פיקודה של סרן עדן נימרי במוצב נחל עוז ב-7 באוקטובר. כשהמחבלים חדרו למיגונית של החיילות בנחל עוז ורצחו 9 חיילות, מאיה נפצעה מרסיסי רימון אבל הצליחה להימלט עם כמה חיילות נוספות למגורי החיילות, שם הסתתרו במשך 7 שעות ממאות המחבלים שפשטו על המוצב.
