His independent role, under the Well-being of Future Generations Act, is to support and challenge Wales to make decisions in the best interests of people who aren’t born yet. In this episode we look at the role of the Commissioner, the impact of the seminal Well-being of Future Generations Act and how Wales’ role in global responsibility ties in with delivering for future generations.

Dr Edna Adan Ismail - the mother of women's health care | Episode 27
In this episode, we welcome Dr Edna Adan Ismael, a renowned leader in maternal health, public health leadership and the mother of women’s health care in Somaliland. Her many achievements include the founding of the Edna Adan University and Hospital, which has significantly reduced maternal mortality in Somaliland, and her tireless campaign to end female genital mutilation (FGM) around the world.
