Hudson County Executive Craig Guy announced the 2026 recommendations for funding by the County's Open Space Trust recently. Sam Schroeder, Chief of Land Acquisition and Design for the Hudson County Division of Planning, joins HCR to talk about the Trust—its impact on the County, what projects are being recommended for funding in this cycle, and when the public hearing on these recommendations will be held by the Hudson County Board of County Commissioners. How The Workforce Development Board Works
Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, appointed a new leadership team and added new members to the Hudson County Workforce Development Board (HCWDB) when he took office to better support local job seekers in a rapidly changing employment landscape. HCR spoke with Sharita Brown, Executive Director of the Board, about how she is adapting the services it offers and engaging the best local partners in business, labor and education to address this challenging mission.

The Hudson County Park System
Encompassing more than 600 acres over nine locations, the Hudson County Park System ably serves all twelve of our municipalities, offering open space, recreation opportunities, and even nature trails in New Jersey's most densely populated County. We talked with Director of the Hudson County Department of Parks, Jonathan DiFilippo, and his Deputy Director, Kevin Wong, about the parks, what they offer residents, and some recent additions to three of the parks honoring our community's history.
