What habits are you?

In their comeback episode, Janet & Ian welcome 2021 with an inspiring conversation a month after the year has started (LOL) about something that is relevant to every single one of us. It’s not about universal truths like we are all human beings or that we all need food to survive. Episode 6 is about HOW we make up our days - better yet WHAT makes up our days… our habits. They start by breaking down their perceptions of new year resolutions - Ian mentions why he has never really subscribed to waiting until the end of the year to meet one’s goals & Janet reflects on the organizational skills she’s has nurtured over the years, and how it’s perfectly ok to have your goals for one year carry over to the next. Especially with the type of year that 2020 was for most people.

The duo decided to put their book review hats on & give their thoughts on a chapter from Atomic Habits by James Clear. They finished with their Sunshine 2 Go quotes for some growth purposes.

Negocio Familiar

In episode 4, Janet & Ian tackle a topic that they have spoken about in previous episodes, briefly but examine it under new questions. That topic is the foundation that all our lives rest on, Family. They start of by discussing the roles their parents & older siblings played for them growing up, specifically how their older siblings sometimes played the role of their "Second Parents". But then, segueing into how that has changed for them in present day - seeing your parents as dependent figures to seeing them more as humans & unpacking their psyche more & more. Navigating how when that "heroic allure". that so many of our parents or older siblings have, goes away &you begin to see them as the human being who was figuring things to the best of their ability. They then pivot a bit asking & answering questions like what are some of their family members preferred form of communication? What do you like to do outside of working & parenting? What are the love/communications styles of your closet family members?

Janet & Ian got real deep in this episode, really psychoanalyzing their personal family experiences and pointing out how they influenced where they are today.

Plug Walk & Sunshine To Go are on @Humanplantspod on Instagram. Check them out!!
