After working in drama production and at a dental implant company, she came to Jeju following a period of physical and mental burnout. She later studied yoga and Buddhist philosophy in Bali and India, which became the foundation of her practice and teaching. After seven years of running her studio in rural Jeju, she is now preparing for a new chapter in Jecheon.</p>

<p>Originally from New York, Kylie came to Korea in 2012 as an English teacher and later moved to Jeju in 2016. While working in tourism and education on the island, she became interested in learning more about haenyeo culture and joined Hansupul Haenyeo School. In 2024, she officially began diving as a haenyeo in Yeongrak-ri. Although she initially struggled with the equipment and the Jeju dialect, she is now becoming part of the village community, diving and sharing meals with the other haenyeo. Through social media, she documents the lives of today&amp;s haenyeo and shares stories about Jeju in English, hoping to help more people better understand haenyeo culture. The part of haenyeo culture she values most is the community itself, and she hopes to continue being a good member of the Yeongrak-ri village in the years ahead.</p>

Together with his wife, Julia, he runs the Jeju English Club, creating a place where local residents can meet through English.
