The Enfield Poltergeist | The True Story Behind The Conjuring 2

In August 1977, an ordinary family home at 284 Green Street in Enfield, North London, became the center of one of the most terrifying and extensively documented alleged poltergeist hauntings in paranormal history. For nearly 18 months, single mother Peggy Hodgson and her four children experienced a series of unexplained disturbances, including furniture moving on its own, violent knocking, objects flying across rooms, alleged levitations, and physical attacks by an unseen force. At the center of the activity was 11-year-old Janet Hodgson, who began speaking in a disturbing, deep male voice claiming to belong to a deceased former resident named Bill Wilkins. What began as strange noises in the night soon attracted police officers, journalists, paranormal investigators, and researchers from the Society for Psychical Research. Investigators Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair spent hundreds of hours documenting the events, collecting eyewitness testimony, photographs, and chilling audio recordings that continue to fascinate paranormal researchers decades later. In this episode of HUSH, we revisit the true story of the Enfield Poltergeist through historical accounts, original interviews, archival recordings, and the extraordinary testimony of those who witnessed the haunting firsthand. From Janet Hodgson's alleged levitations to the mysterious voice of Bill Wilkins, we examine the events that inspired The Conjuring 2 and made the Enfield haunting one of the most famous paranormal investigations of all time. Was 284 Green Street home to a violent poltergeist, the restless spirit of a former resident, or something even more mysterious? Step inside the Hodgson family's home and experience the investigation that captivated Britain and continues to haunt paranormal history. Topics covered: Enfield Poltergeist 1977, Janet Hodgson, Peggy Hodgson, Maurice Grosse, Guy Lyon Playfair, Bill Wilkins, the Hodgson family haunting, paranormal investigations, alleged demonic activity, poltergeist phenomena, ghost encounters, unexplained mysteries, historical hauntings, eyewitness accounts, and the true story behind The Conjuring 2. #EnfieldPoltergeist #HUSHpodcast #TrueParanormal #ParanormalDocumentary #HauntedHouse #JanetHodgson #MauriceGrosse #TheConjuring2 #GhostStories #Poltergeist #ParanormalInvestigation #UnexplainedMysteries #TrueHaunting #HorrorDocumentary #Supernatural #HauntedHistory #fyp
