Петя мало спит, решает проблемы с антеннами и генератором, скидывает «зажигалочки», встречается с женой, журналисткой Наталкой Гуменюк, и наконец узнает, что пропавшие из их подвала вещи — кусачки, ключи и кепку — утащила маленькая собака.

Петя едет на первое боевое дежурство — это разведка на «мавиках» — и понимает, чем служба оператора дронов одновременно напоминает работу выпуска новостей на телевидении и рисунки «Где Вальдо?». Он учится издавать звук сверчка и отличать «ебучую» посадку от «злоебучей».
