How to Mauver Conflict-Resloution
Biblical Framework for Conflict Resolution Pursue Peace: Romans 12:18 says, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” As Kingdom citizens, our goal isn’t just to win arguments but to pursue reconciliation. Peace is a choice, and it’s one we’re called to make. Confront with Love: Matthew 18:15 reminds us, “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you.” Avoid gossip and handle issues privately and respectfully. Conflict resolution starts with honest conversations, not public accusations. Be Quick to Forgive: Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Forgiveness is essential, not just for the other person but for your own peace and spiritual growth. Speak Life, Not Harm: Proverbs 15:1 says, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” How you communicate during conflict can either escalate or de-escalate the situation. Be mindful of your words and tone. Practical Steps for Resolving Conflict Here are some actionable steps to handle conflict in a Kingdom way: Pray First: Start by bringing the situation to God. Ask Him for wisdom, clarity, and a heart of humility. Address the Issue Directly: Don’t let issues fester. Speak with the person involved and have an honest, loving conversation. Listen Actively: James 1:19 reminds us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Truly hear the other person’s perspective before responding.

Count the Cost
Considering the Sacrifices: Following Jesus often requires giving up things that are valuable to us, such as comfort, wealth, relationships, and even personal desires. It means acknowledging that discipleship involves making personal sacrifices for the sake of the Kingdom of God. Evaluating the Commitment: Discipleship is not a temporary or half-hearted commitment. Jesus calls His followers to take up their cross, meaning they must be prepared to face challenges, endure suffering, and make Him their priority above all else (Luke 9:23). Counting the cost means understanding that this is a lifelong, all-in commitment. Understanding the Challenges: The Christian path is often described as narrow and difficult (Matthew 7:13-14). Following Jesus may lead to opposition, persecution, and hardships. Counting the cost means realizing that the road to eternal life is not easy, but it is worth it.
