Concert Photography in Toronto w/ Riley Taylor (from 2022)

Three years ago on a nice summer day in July 2022, I asked photographer friend Riley Taylor to take some photos of me, and after the photoshoot we sat at a picnic table for a chat! Riley and I met taking photos at concerts in Toronto sometime in 2009, and we talked about what that was like and how things have changed since then. We also talked about technical challenges and the artistic process. Some form of art-making could be such a solitary process, but it doesn’t have to be. This conversation reminds me that there is truly no one way that says how you must do things, you just have to find what works for you. Photos that Riley took of me are up on http://iamthinkingaboutyou.com Find Riley! Growing up in Hong Kong listening to Linkin Park w/ Philbert (from 2022)

To welcome Q2 2025 in this hellscape and a new world order, I opened the time capsule and bring you this conversation with my friend Philbert from 2022. When I started this little project of mine, I knew I wanted to talk to someone extensively about growing up in Hong Kong and moving to Canada as a young adult, and Philbert was the perfect guest to dig deep into these feelings with. We also spent a good chunk talking about our mutual love for music and Linkin Park. That brings us to our first content warning: we never actually said it outright, but there are mentions of depression and suicide. On the lighter side of things, we share our experiences in language learning and Philbert brought us otter facts! Don’t forget to check the website https://iamthinkingaboutyou.com/ (https://iamthinkingaboutyou.com/) for photos, including the ones I took of Linkin Park when I was 18 (?!!?!!???????) University years and making films w/ Betty Xie (from 2022)

Annnd we are back(ish). Taking you all back to March 2022 when I recorded this episode with longtime friend Betty Xie. Betty is a career coach for creatives, a fundraising consultant and a filmmaker. Throughout the years, I’ve often benefited from Betty’s advice and counsel and I’m glad she has professionalized it! In this conversation, we take you back to 2012 when we first met and talked through the various film projects we worked on (and how I inspired a character (https://www.instagram.com/p/CZFSbfpOhbf/?img_index=1) in one of her projects). Being overly sincere w/ Gavin Sutton (aka Tennyson Wolf)

This was an episode recorded in the earlier days of the conception of this podcast in March 2022... In the episode, I caught up with singer-songwriter Gavin Sutton aka Tennyson Wolf, who introduced me to podcasts and without whom this podcast might not exist (sounds dramatic but true). We talked about how our lives intersected, the photos I’ve taken of him, friendships, making music as an independent musician and what we’ve been watching & listening. We covered quite a bit!!! There’s also a special follow-up with first guest Ammar at the end. All the photos we talked about are on the website (https://iamthinkingaboutyou.com/?p=511).
