I Barely Know You is a clubhouse-style podcast hosted by Dylan Silver and Matt Forte, two semi-strangers who showed up with absolutely no plan and somehow can't stop talking. Each episode explores the surprisingly revealing conversations hiding inside everyday topics. Appropriate movie theater reaction noises, celebrity cake preferences, the lost art of the VHS slipcase, they tackle it all. Its a special place where guests are lovingly ambushed with offbeat games, tangents come dangerously close to overtaking the main topic, and every episode ends with more questions than it started with. Embrace chaos, just listen to I Barely Know You.
Dylan and Matt welcome Brian Wecht aka “Trey Magnifique” (NEW ALBUM Bebop Cowboy Out NOW) aka "Ninja Brian" of Ninja Sex Party, also of Starbomb, co-host of Leighton Night with Brian Wecht and a former theoretical physicist with over 30 published papers.
Believe it or not, they actually touch on most of that in just one episode. We begin with an unnamed game only Brian could play. In an attempt to merge his passions for both music and science, today’s guest is given popular song lyrics of questionable scientific merit and asked, science fact or fiction? (Incidentally a much cleaner name for the game had our hosts only thought of it before recording.) Could Mars actually support a colony (Rocket Man)? Can you really see Kilimanjaro from the Serengeti (Toto’s Africa)? And, of course, the math behind Owl City's "Fireflies.” Is a 1,000-hugs-from-10,000-lightning-bugs ratio a win or a brutal self-own?
Also covered: how "preprint culture" and AI have sped up the pace of theoretical physics research (in the episode before this Matt and Dylan debated the origin of the Double Stuff Oreo so they can relate.) why he left academia for music after a job offer from Game Grumps' Arin Hanson, playing exaggerated stage personas, his new album Bebop Cowboy (out on September 18th) his own podcast, Leighton Night with Brian Wecht and what make the soprano saxophone the stupidest of all the sax’s.
We know Brian. But we barely know him.

Matt & Dylan | Are Barely Watching The Parent Trap
It’s the 10th episode spectacular! Sort of. It’s also a celebration of one of their top 4 favorite seasons. And they’re kind of watching Lindsey Lohan’s 1998 debut feature film. Theres a lot going on, but it all makes sense. Barely.
To close out the summer, they’ll trade memories, share traditions and soft-launch a new movie centric watch along segment. In a fitting ode to all things summer, they’re barely paying attention to The Parent Trap.
While classic 90s twin based hijinks play out in the background, the gang plays "Real or Not Real" a game Dylan accidentally made up by fact-checking the movie's summer-camp logistics. The isolation cabin, real or not real? The impossibly elaborate pranks, real or not real? Giant bowl of communal strawberries? You get it.
Also covered: East Coast vs. West Coast summer culture, kids going back to school in August, childhood amusement park rituals (Kingda Ka, Action Park, Rye Playland), and a closing round on the summer traditions that have stuck, ice cream sandwiches, oversleeping, meteor showers in the desert, Cinespia at Hollywood Forever, stone fruit, and the joys of owning your own slushie machine.
We’ll miss summer. But we can barely wait for cider season.

Susan Eisenberg | Is Literally Wonder Woman
Our guest is Susan Eisenberg, the actor behind more than 20 years of iconic performances as the world's beloved voice of Wonder Woman, plus Avatar: The Last Airbender, Masters of the Universe, Jedi master Shaak Ti in "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" and dozens more. While Matt never imagined he’d ever meet Wonder Woman, Dylan and Susan actually go way back, so between the two of them “barely know” still applies.
The gang debuts the hastily titled “Susan's Game” where they show Susan photos of World's Ugliest Dog contestants and dogs in assorted costumes, and ask her to figure out what each one would sound like. It goes about as well as you'd expect from a woman who has spent two decades finding character voices for a living.
Also covered: what voiceover auditions used to feel like before everyone had to self-tape and self-edit, the vanishing "waiting room" era of the industry, Susan’s relationship to the late great Kevin Conroy, fan culture and the timeless art of working a comic con, driving cross-country from LA to be closer to family, her dog Ollie, and her own podcast, Justice League Revisited, where she and her former castmates finally get to talk to the writers and directors who used to be "on the other side of the glass."
We know Susan. But we barely know her.

IBKY Presents: World O' Cups with special guest Mary May
Miss the World Cup? Us too, but what if we told you there was one more tournament this summer, packed with all the excitement, drama and unexpected twists you’ve grown to expect over the last 30 days? OK, and what if there was another tournament, and that one was about cups?
Writer and Director Mary May jumps right in as a guest who, by her own admission, doesn't know much about soccer but loves a good cup, as giants from the world of cups gather for a 16 round winner takes all showdown of the century culminating in an epic shocker of a final between practicality and whimsy.
The matchups start off exactly as you’d expect, the classics, cup of coffee vs cuppah tea, peanut butter cup vs cupcake, but as the tournament continues, the action devolves into abject chaos. Will Princess Buttercup from The Princess Bride have to answer to a $4 Egg Cup from QVC? What even is an Egg Cup? Anything can happen in the World O’ Cups!
Also covered: Dylan's entrance to her wedding via the Liverpool theme song, Hollywood Bowl shuttle logistics, Marin’s ongoing quest for Clark Griswold's exact Tasmanian Devil mug from Christmas Vacation, and an important PSA about backup cameras.
We know Mary. But we barely know her.
Special thanks to friend of the show, the great Spencer Watson @spencerlwatson for introducing the inaugural tournament in true World Cup final fashion.

Howy Parkins | Has Stories
Some guests you prepare for. Some guests you barely have to.
Howy Parkins has stories. Stories about unexpected celebrity encounters at The Simpsons studio in the 90s. Stories about being a cable repairman in Canada in January. Stories about driving 120 miles an hour on the Autobahn to see the Ramones in a snowstorm. Stories about learning the importance of animation timing from Looney Tunes legend, Chuck Jones
Animation director, layout artist and quietly one of the most interesting people in Burbank, Howy has worked on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Simpsons, Rugrats, Recess, Hey Arnold and basically everything animated you love. He also plays bass, restores classic cars, builds catios (cat patios) and is the reason Matt has a running club to go to on Saturday mornings.
Also covered: Blue raspberry, the origins of Boysenberry, scented markers as a gateway drug, Saturday morning routines, and the importance of having your own TV in your room in the 90s.
We know Howy. But we barely know him.

Scott Gairdner | Is Just As Surprised
Fake guests, secret emails, imported pig shaped gummy candy. This one has it all.
In their most blissfully chaotic episode yet, Dylan and Marin have (lovingly)conspired to surprise Matt with a special mystery guest for his birthday. Having fully prepared for animation legend Howy Parkins, Matt’s brain explodes when it’s revealed that even their production meetings were just a smoke screen.
Equally surprised and delighted is actual guest Scott Gairdner, comedy writer, director, creator of Moonbeam City, and host of the beloved theme park podcast Podcast the Ride.
Topics include: Big things in small spaces phobias, the mythology of City Walk, Casa Bonita, nostalgic snacks, and will Howy ever actually be a guest or was that all just a cunning ruse to keep Matt guessing?
We know Scott. But we barely know him.

Dylan & Matt | Can Explain
This week Dylan, Matt, and Marin test the show's limits and the audience's patience by going guestless and digging deeper into one another's personalities.
Matt's not a morning person, Dylan's not a clothing person, but everyone loves Mel C.
Also: The gang grows suspicious of online personality tests as they play "Sponge or Spice?", fondly recall the days of the cassingle, Space Jam as a bedtime ritual, and a brief detour into some very dark SpongeBob Reddit threads that Dylan doesn't care to elaborate any further on.
The I Can Explain Guy is an inspiration to us all.

Ashley Michelle Grant | no cap, ALL CAPS.
Dylan's got bangs, Matt sports a mustache, Marin has thoughts and everything is totally fine.
Having finally made the pilgrimage to Casa Bonita, Dylan reports back with cliff diver coasters and a lot of feelings while Matt recalls fond memories of childhood salads. Also on the agenda: the monoculture is dead, grandmas vs grannys, and what you watched as a kid says more about you than you think.
Vertical Drama Love Awards Best Actress in a Comedy and Vertical pioneer Ashley Michelle Grant swings by to discuss early comedy influences, collapsable champaign flute towers and Arizona weather patterns.
Also, the gang plays a slang game! ASL, TFW, rizz, and no cap, are just a few of the terms Dylan has absolutely never heard of. Ashley over performs, Matt loves Harry Styles.
Theres a million other things they cover but like a voice memo, its probably better if you stopped reading and just listened to the episode already.
We know Ashley. But we barely know her.

Spencer Watson | Has Left The Group Chat
Sometimes the only thing harder than leaving home is going back. This week Dylan and Matt discuss the food they look forward to when they venture east, the TV shows that remind them of home, and diners. Is Denny's a diner? Why are LA diners different? These are the questions that matter.
Then, Spencer Watson, Actor, Writer, EMT, and scuba diving aspiring pilot joins the gang to play "Final Stunt Game." Based on Spencer's love of Mr. Cruise, he must identify whether described film stunts belong to Tom, someone else entirely, or were completely made up.
Before appearing on our show Spencer was just recently in Paul Greengrass's Academy Award nominated Apple TV+ film The Lost Bus along side Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera. We imagine the experience on our floor was comparable.
Also covered: Spencer's brave decision to leave a complicated group chat, why COVID turned him into an EMT, the case for leaning into every passion you've ever had, and a cake almost as famous as the famous person who loves it.
We know Spencer. But we barely know him.

Rob Michael Hugel | The French Horn Will Take You Places
Dylan and Matt are back, this time with a plant, some unique candles, and a round of morning cocktails nobody asked for but everyone appreciated.
Writer, standup comedian, and co-host of the I Keep Hearing podcast, Rob Michael Hugel joins the gang for a new game built around his encyclopedic knowledge of reality television, where Dylan describes posters for shows she's never seen before and everyone else tries to keep up.
Also covered: the Legend of Korra versus Avatar, misunderstood open mics, why the French horn will take you places, and the one Dodgers game that apparently introduced Dylan to half of Los Angeles.
We know Rob. But we barely know him.

Pat Cassels | A Diamond in a Rhinestone World
Get in on the ground floor.. Our fearless hosts officially launch I Barely Know You from the barren floors of a dining room in Burbank, with one blind dog, two Hawaiian shirts, and no plan whatsoever.
Their first guest is Pat Cassels, College Humor veteran, Emmy winner, and a man with very specific feelings about condiments. Somehow the three of them are more connected than anyone realized, and that's before the conversation takes off into movie theater etiquette, the devastatingly sad series finale of the 90s sitcom Dinosaurs, and a frozen Gene Simmons at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Play along for the debut of the VHS Slipcase Game. Pat gets ambushed with a pillowcase full of tapes and has to identify films from cover descriptions alone. Monkey Trouble, Rocky Horror, and a Sylvester Stallone/Dolly Parton fever dream all make appearances.
We know Pat. But we barely know him.
