what losing years of your life to mental health is really like
Hey y'all, after disappearing for a few months and taking some much needed time for myself to recharge… I’ve come to realize something about myself and my life. It seems to be a pattern in my life where I constantly struggle with consistency and go in and out of being able to show up in the ways that I really want. I’ll have a period where I’m feeling super motivated, social and creative, and then suddenly a few months later, I’m already burnt out and exhausted by life again. And it got me thinking about how long my life has been this way, and just how many years I’ve lost. Looking back at my life, I’ve lost a lot of years to my mental health- specifically depression, anxiety and grief. This looked like rotting in bed, doomscrolling, not taking care of myself, not being active, not following my dreams and passions- you get the point. We’ve all been there. But when it becomes a constant pattern in your life, you begin to wonder if there's something deeply wrong with you. You wonder if life will always be like this… If you’ll always feel imprisoned by your own mind and feeling stuck in life. This episode is about my personal story of struggling with mental health for many years, my views on how mental health distorts our realities, why people who struggle feel misunderstood and invisible to the world, and how our mental health can literally take precious years off of our lives. ______________________________________________________________ Just remember that everyone is battling their own battle inside of their head, and that’s why it’s SO important to check up on your loved ones and have these conversations with each other! born to create, forced to survive.
Soooo if I’m being honest… lately I’ve been feeling really down about this rat race called “life”. I started a new job, bills were due, money had to be made, and I got pulled away from the one thing I actually want to do- to create. And it’s not even that I didn’t have time to create… I was just mentally exhausted from constantly thinking about surviving and stressing over everything. I feel like so many of us are living in a constant state of survival mode, and it’s been normalized in our society. In this episode, I talk about how I truly believe we are all naturally born creators and we’re not meant to spend our whole lives stuck in survival mode, working ourselves to death just to barely afford basic necessities. We’re meant to create, experience life, see the world, and actually enjoy being alive while we’re here. Creativity isn’t just art either, it’s cooking, building things, and thinking outside of the box we’ve all been confined to. My spiritual awakening after psychedelics completely changed the way I see life and what I actually want for myself. This was also the beginning of me getting into meditation, manifestation, affirmations, subliminals, quantum leaping, shifting realities, and all the spiritual stuff that honestly helped me stop feeling so trapped mentally. I end things off with some advice I think we could all use… that we need to wake up to the fact that living like this isn’t normal, to create even when you’re exhausted, use manifestation and positive content to change your reality, and lastly… sometimes just living a little delusional is better than being consumed by the rat race. stop sitting on your potential (10 ways to become a more confident you)
I hate to break it to you… but a lot of us are sitting on our potential. And it all comes down to one thing: confidence. Confidence isn’t something you’re born with, it’s something you build. It’s the make-or-break factor between staying stuck where you are and becoming the person you know you’re meant to be. In this episode, we’re diving into 10 powerful ways to become a more confident version of you, and maybe even the most confident person in the room. As someone who has struggled with confidence for many years, I’ve learned that real confidence isn’t about convincing other people of your worth… it’s about convincing yourself until you fully believe it. Time Stamps: (0:01) We’re sleeping on our potential (2:00) why confidence actually matters (5:05) 1. fake it till you make it (5:58) 2. look good, feel good (7:11) 3. take action (8:10) 4. keep promises to yourself (8:48) 5. have strong networking skills (10:10) 6. walk into rooms with purpose (11:58) 7. change your perspective, change your life (14:08) 8. speak up for yourself and for others (14:55) 9. find people that light you up (17:03) 10. don’t be afraid to share your opinions (19:05) closing thoughts Linktree: https://linktr.ee/idgacpodcast (https://linktr.ee/idgacpodcast) IG: https://www.instagram.com/jessvissuals (https://www.instagram.com/jessvissuals) Watch on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@IDontGiveACarePodcast (https://www.youtube.com/@IDontGiveACarePodcast) Music: Neon Signs by Simon Folwar https://uppbeat.io/browse/artist/simon-folwar (https://uppbeat.io/browse/artist/simon-folwar%E2%81%A0)

the power of not oversharing (why everything doesn't need an audience)
Let’s be real for a minute… some of us (myself included) love announcing our plans to the world like we already did something. Starting a new business? Wanting to run a marathon? Planning on moving across the country? Saving to buy a house? But… maybe you haven’t actually done the work yet to achieve that goal (or you never even started) and then all of a sudden you never did what you told everyone you were going to do. (oops) Sound familiar? Yeah... unfortunately I feel you. In this episode, I’m getting into the power of not oversharing and why sometimes it’s better to stop telling people our plans until we’ve already done them. We talk about: Why we feel the urge to tell everyone our plans (and why it actually sabotages us) How oversharing tricks your brain into thinking you’ve already accomplished something How we don’t always need an audience The times I’ve overshared and immediately regretted it How “evil eye” is a real thing (not everyone needs access to you) The power in privacy and “moving in silence” Being selective about who you confide in Protecting yourself and your goals Sometimes we’re more in love with the idea of our goals than actually doing them… and that’s why we talk so much about them. In 2026, let’s do less talking and more doing. Cheers to reaching our goals this year, yeeeeehaw!🤠 “Are you climbing the mountain for the world to see you… or for you to see the world?” All of my links: https://linktr.ee/idgacpodcast (https://linktr.ee/idgacpodcast) IG: https://www.instagram.com/jessvissuals (https://www.instagram.com/jessvissuals) Watch on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@IDontGiveACarePodcast (https://www.youtube.com/@IDontGiveACarePodcast)

Celebrate them, even in death.
Today is my brother Ryan's birthday, and he would have been 33... Happy Aries szn y'alllll!!! This week we'll be talking all about celebrating someone you love even after they’re "gone", because guess what? Just because they died doesn’t mean we stop celebrating or loving them. I’m breaking down all the wild, chaotic, legendary ways we’ve kept his memory alive over the years. From talking about the iconic band tees I designed in his honor, the massive celebration of life we threw on what would’ve been his 30th birthday, the legacy video I made with all our wholesome childhood videos, and how me and my sister literally got his story on the news while fighting for the justice he still deserves. I also get into our matching tattoos and The Lion King symbolism, the spiritual signs my brother has sent us, and how keeping someone’s memory alive makes you feel closer to them than you think. To end it off, we talk about how important it is to have people who let you talk about your loved one and even get excited about it too. This episode is your reminder: celebrate them, even in death. how to exist in a world you feel misunderstood by
Have you ever been told that your feelings are “too much”... that you’re too sensitive…that it’s not that deep? Even though your entire life it really has been that deep for you? If so, then you’re probably a sensitive soul with a big heart… someone who’s felt misunderstood most of their life. It can feel really lonely existing in a world that doesn’t always value depth, where people lack empathy and don’t meet you on that emotional level. A lot of people like us also tend to become huge people pleasers, often putting others before themselves. Somewhere along the way, we were made to feel like something was wrong with us or that we needed to change to be accepted. Well, I’m here to tell you that our empathy is not a weakness. It is actually our superpower and we need people like us in the world. It’s time to stop trying so hard to fit in and be normal, and to instead embrace your sensitive nature and big heart– it is something that the world needs more of. is lust culture ruining us?
Is lust culture ruining us? And also destroying modern day relationships? In this week’s episode of I Don’t Give a Care, we get into the reality of lust culture and how it’s shaping our relationships, dating, and the way we see each other. From micro-cheating and hookup culture to endless options on social media, wandering eyes, and the normalization of liking half-naked content while in relationships… It feels like we can’t escape a lustful world. We talk about how the adult industry and social media are desensitizing us, why honesty in relationships is fading into half-truths and “little white lies,” and why so many of us feel disconnected from real intimacy. The real question is, do we still have control over what we consume, what we normalize and who we choose to be and show up in our relationships? Let’s talk about honesty, respect, and why people deserve to be seen as people and not objects. Chapters: (00:20) Intro (01:30) lust culture is ruining us (03:00) microcheating (12:00) it's about respect (15:50) social media driving lust culture (17:20) hookup culture- what happened to dating? If you feel behind in life, this one's for you
Do you ever feel like everyone else got a secret handbook to life and have everything figured out? Why does it feel like they're all so much further ahead? Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m behind in life… and I know I’m not the only one. In this week's episode of I Don't Give a Care, we talk about the pressure to have everything figured out, how opportunities and setbacks shape our lives, the reality of starting over, and why the timeline we think we’re supposed to follow might not actually matter. If you’ve ever questioned your path or felt like you’re falling behind everyone else, this episode is for you. grief is god damn lonely.
This week we're talking about a bit of a heavier topic... how grief is god damn lonely. If you've ever experienced a tragic loss or the death of a loved one, you'd understand that it feels like the loneliest feeling in the entire world, and that no one truly understands you. After losing my older brother unexpectedly in 2022, grief became my reality. My world was quickly flooded with pain, sadness, anger and loneliness. In a society that choose to turn a blind eye to grief and loss, there are limited conversations, resources and support for those that are grieving. In this episode, we talk about how it feels to grieve someone you lost, how everyone will experience death in one way or another, how it seems like everyone leaves your life, people pretend like your loss didn't happen, how grief makes you isolate, it makes everyone super uncomfortable, how you start to resent others while they tiptoe around you, why everyone handles grief differently, how it changes all of the dynamics of your relationships, and how life just simply goes on. We end the episode talking about how you can show up and support someone who's grieving, how to take care of yourself and grow with your grief, and finally, that despite all of this, you're not actually as lonely as you think. P.S. this episode is for everyone– even if you haven't been through this yet, I really hope that you stay for this conversation. It's so important that we normalize talking about grief, loss, and how to support & show up for those around us. It would mean the world to me, and others who are grieving, for you to stay and listen. Let me know your thoughts on this topic– I would love to hear what you think and about your experiences! they're trying to see if they still have access to you.
Have you ever received a random call, text, or an innocent-seeming “just checking on you” from someone you haven’t heard from in months… or even years? Only for them to disappear again the second they got the attention they were looking for? Yeah...me too lol. Turns out, this is way more common than we think. It’s called temperature checking- when someone from your past (usually someone you didn’t end on good terms with) pops up out of nowhere just to see if they still have access to you. In this episode of I Don’t Give a Care, we’re not holding back. In honor of Valentine’s Day just passing, and with the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse officially beginning on February 17, we’re ranting about past relationships that refuse to move on and feel the need to “check the temperature.” We break down what temperature checking actually is, the signs to look out for, my personal experience with it, why people do this in the first place, and my honest advice on how to handle it. We also tie it all back to the energy of the Fire Horse year which is all about releasing the past, taking risks and intense action. This year, we’re choosing peace, protecting our energy, and allowing the past to stay in the past. Time stamps: (0:20) Intro (1:10) shedding the year of the snake for the year of the fire horse (3:15) what is temperature checking (5:13) why people temperature check (8:15) personal experiences (11:38) this behaviour sucks (16:18) why we sometimes fall for it (19:00) my two cents and advice (23:50) the end

I Don't Give a Care (Official Trailer)
Welcome to the I Don't Give a Care Podcast! For a lot of my life, I’ve watered down my personality, lowered my voice, and never trusted myself and my own decisions as I relied on what everyone else thought of me…as many of us do. But this podcast isn’t just about my story- it’s about all of us who care WAY too much and are afraid to be our authentic selves to truly speak our minds. We’ll finally be having real and unfiltered convos about what we’re all thinking & going through, but too scared to say out loud and to each other. From ranting about life in your 20’s, to toxic relationships, grief & loss, mental health, family dynamics, friendship, wild story times, spirituality, healing, and simply not caring about shit that doesn’t matter anymore, everything is on the table. we're all addicted to our phones... and it's getting kinda scary.
It’s no secret that we’re all a little too obsessed with our phones. Never-ending doomscrolling. Escaping reality. Avoiding emotions. Relying on our phones to do the simplest tasks. Using our phones to replace human connection. It’s become blatantly obvious that we’re more than just reliant on our phones- we’re addicted, and it’s getting kinda scary. In this episode we get real about how much time we truly waste on our phones, how we’re being robbed of our lives instead of actually living them, how we use our phones to escape reality, why social media is damaging our mental health, why consuming over creating is draining us, how our relationships are suffering, and why our phones might actually be making us dumber. And finally, we talk about how to set real boundaries with our phones and social media so we can take back our time, relationships, and life and stop living through a screen. Time Stamps: (0:18) Intro (1:52) we’re all addicted to our phones (2:20) my mistake when I gave up social media (5:20) how much time we actually waste (10:13) escaping reality (11:55) social media & doomscrolling is ruining us (13:18) it’s damaging our relationships (15:05) 24/7 access & a false sense of connection (18:00) our phones are making us dumb and boring (20:35) what are we supposed to do? I don't give a care, and neither should you.
In the very first episode of I Don’t Give a Care, we’re getting real about how much we all care about things that truly don’t matter. I share my story, the inspiration behind this podcast, and why this project means so much to me. We dive into what it actually means to “not give a care”, and how the hell you even start doing that. I talk about the times I’ve cared way too much (and probably still do), the expectations I’ve carried, and why adopting a more carefree mindset can feel so freeing when you finally let go. This episode is your reminder that you don’t have to live for everyone else- and that not caring can be one of the most powerful things you do for yourself.
