"I Still Believe in School" is a podcast by Dr. Dave Barry, an Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education at West Chester University of PA. Dave was a Kindergarten and Pre-K teacher for over 10 years and gets how stressful teaching is (he even wrote a book about it), but is trying to focus on what's going well in schools by sharing wisdom from the best educators he knows to add some positivity to the narrative about teaching. Guests of the show play games to fundraise for classrooms. Opinions expressed on the show are Dave's & his guests' and do not represent any employer/entity.
In this mini-finale-compilation-episode, Dr. Dave reflects on six of his previous guests' responses to the question: why do you still believe in school? Responses come from previous I Still Believe in School guests Leanne Switzer (https://sites.google.com/view/istillbelieveinschool/episodes/s2-e3-because-i-believe-in-the-abilities-of-all-our-disabled-students?authuser=0), Marissa Knox (https://sites.google.com/view/istillbelieveinschool/episodes/s2-e7-because-leaning-is-magical?authuser=0), Rachel Davidson (https://sites.google.com/view/istillbelieveinschool/episodes/s2-e13-because-i-believe-in-community?authuser=0), Katie Manwiller (https://sites.google.com/view/istillbelieveinschool/episodes/s1-ep6-its-an-opportunity-for-equality?authuser=0), Gertrudes Fidalgo (https://sites.google.com/view/istillbelieveinschool/episodes/s2-e9-because-i-believe-in-unlocking-learning-potential?authuser=0), and Lenore Grunko (https://sites.google.com/view/istillbelieveinschool/episodes/s1-ep2-because-its-an-extension-of-democracy?authuser=0).
Dr. Dave is taking a break from podcasting for a while to pursue some other projects - he hopes to come back soon. In the meantime, don't stop believin'!
