Seeking Validation or Approval

So many of us are stuck in the cycle of checking for likes, hearts and thumbs up from others on our social media or approval from people around us lately. We have become a product of what others think about us in every way. We've lost our way from being our authentic self, whatever that self is.

There are many relationships of late that are falling apart because we're stuck accepting unwanted opinions or judgments from others that don't even matter. We have allowed toxic people to approve of our choices in everything we do that we can't see or recognize the person in the mirror any longer. We are seeking validation and approval from others and not paying attention to our own needs.

If you wan to see change in your life, take action now! The judgements and opinions of others do not matter, but your peace of mind and safe space do. Remember that you don't need approval or validation from anyone but yourself!

I encourage you to take a small step today and regain the freedom to be you in every way without becoming a victim to approval or validation seeking. Hearts, likes and thumbs up don't make you, you! Your own values, choices and likes make you. You don't need approval from others to be your authentic self!

Excuses! We All Have them

How often have you found yourself giving reasons for not doing something, especially when it's going to benefit us?

We've all been in situations in our lives where we've come up with reason upon reason for not doing something. These my dear friends are excuses! You want to write a book, a poem, a song, lose/gain weight, eat better or travel somewhere you've never been. You say things like, I'm too old, I'm not smart enough, no none will want to read my stories or listen to my music, it's too hard and so on.

Time passes, which could be weeks, months or years. You get frustrated and give yet more excuses for why you won't do this or that. In this podcast I share with you some insights on how I am able to stay focused on the things that I want to get done. I understand how releasing the need to make excuses works for my highest good.

I hope that this podcast episode inspires you to take action and stop making excuses for doing the things you need for yourself or the things that bring you joy.

Commitment...What does it mean to you?

Have you had enough of you own disappointments when it comes to your personal commitments? Struggling to stay focused and motivated? In this episode I share with you a little about how I felt like a failure at times when I'd made commitments to myself and didn't follow through.

I know that we all go through challenges that make us feel like we've failed. We make commitments to others because we're afraid to be judged or rejected. We worry what others will say so we commit to things that are not for our own benefit. We fall prey to people pleasing and then our commitments eventually fall short because we give up.

I've had so many dreams and desires that I committed to in the past and only stayed focused for a short period of time. I felt like a failure and the only person I could look to was myself. How did it happen? When and where did the motivation and energy go? How was I ever going to really feel good about myself and move forward?

I have finally made the commitment to myself first. It is only with that frame of mind that I am able to realize and see the manifestation of my dreams. The only way that I can allow my dreams and golas to manifest. I have committed to my overall well being. It is only through this that I can be here for others like my family, my friends and those that need me. I challenge you to rid yourself of perceived failures which only indicate that there is another opportunity to start or try again.

Take small steps towards your dreams, goals and aspirations! Reward yourself for all that you have been able to get done and celebrate. Get someone you trust that will be in your corner and hold you accountable to yourself. You can do this! If this is the 1000th time you've tried, I say do it again because you've been given another day. Commit to you first and the commitments to others will be a breeze because they will be done with joy and ease!
