<p>How Local Building Departments Can Advance Garage Door Safety</p><p>Recent updates to the International Codes requiring labeling of garage doors to include wind pressure ratings will increase the emphasis on code compliance for wind resistance. Join Mike and his guest Mike Wich, the Director of Building Code Administration and Chief Building Official for the South Central Planning and Development Commission based in Houma, Louisiana. Mike and Mike discuss the code requirements for garage doors and openers, and the role that local building departments can play in helping ensure that safe, code compliant garage door installations are the norm. They will also talk about the partnerships between IDA, DASMA, and ICC to observe Garage Door Safety Month in conjunction with ICC's Building Safety Month.</p>
