IGNITE THE SHIELD OF FAITH | MK Crone & Rachel James
In this episode, we dive into what it truly means to "take up the shield of faith" from Ephesians 6. Inspired by the image of the Roman soldier's shield—large, protective, and designed to lock together with others—we explore how faith serves as both a defense and proactive force in the spiritual battle.
What are the flaming arrows of the enemy? Doubt, fear, shame, lies, anxiety, and temptation. These are aimed at our hearts to shake our trust in God's goodness. But faith isn’t about ignoring the struggle—it’s about believing in God's presence through it.
We’ll look at how to actively use your shield:
Stand on Scripture (Romans 10:17)
Pray in faith, even when outcomes are unclear
Remember how God has shown up in your life and others’
Encourage each other’s faith—just like Roman soldiers who stood shield to shield
We also reflect on Hebrews 11, the “Hall of Faith,” and stories like the bleeding woman in Luke 8, whose faith made her well. Faith is not passive—it’s a spiritual muscle that grows the more we use it. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). So let’s get equipped, stand firm, and lock shields together.

IGNITE FEET FITTED WITH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE | MK Crone & Rachel James
This week, we lace up a new piece of the armor of God—the shoes of the gospel of peace—and uncover what it truly means to be ready for spiritual battle.
Drawing inspiration from the Roman soldier’s sandals—reinforced with straps and spikes for traction and stability—we explore how peace is more than a feeling. It’s a foundation. A grounding force. A readiness that comes from the good news of Jesus Christ. These aren’t just spiritual slippers for comfort; they’re spiritual combat boots for every kind of terrain.
Because when the storms of life hit, it's not will they come, but whether you’ll stand or sink. And the answer depends on whether your feet are fitted with a peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6–7).
In this episode, we unpack:
The biblical meaning of peace—not the absence of chaos, but wholeness in the middle of it
How anxiety makes us vulnerable, and how faith and peace go hand in hand (Matthew 6:27, Mark 4)
Why peace is a fruit of the Spirit and how we cultivate it by abiding in Christ (John 15)
What it means to live out peace with God, peace from God, and peace for others
How daily time with the Lord, forgiveness, thankfulness, and sharing the Gospel keep us anchored
As we continue suiting up for spiritual warfare, remember this: peace isn’t passive—it’s powerful. It grounds us, guards us, and prepares us to move forward in boldness, carrying the good news wherever we go.
"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news…" (Isaiah 52:7)
