Prayer is one of the most powerful yet misunderstood practices in the Christian life. In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches that the purpose of prayer is not performance but genuine connection with God. The real question is not what words you use or how long you pray, but who your audience actually is. When God is your only audience, prayer becomes honest, intimate, and transformative. It is not about unlocking a response through the right formula. It is about alignment with a Father who already knows your needs and already loves you completely. Three key truths stand out: prayer flows from valuing God's sovereignty, the secret of prayer is in the audience, and depth of time with God builds real relationship. The invitation is simple. Come to Him as you are.

Secrets we should keep; Part One
In Matthew 6, Jesus warns His followers about a subtle but dangerous temptation: turning acts of righteousness into public performances. While living generously and faithfully is good, doing it to be seen by others replaces a God-honoring heart with self-promotion. Jesus calls His people to give generously, sacrificially, willingly, and secretly, trusting that the Father who sees in secret will reward what is done in private. Where you spend your money reveals where your heart truly is. The goal is not to impress people with your generosity but to reflect a heart that has freely received from God. Living for the applause of others is chasing something that constantly shifts, while God's view of you never does. This week, find one opportunity to give in a way that no one else will know about, and trust that your Father sees it.
