Podcast Overview

I’m Ju Young, a neuroscientist originally from Korea, trained in Germany, and now working in the Netherlands. Igwa (pronounced Ee-gwa, 이과) is the Korean word for “science major”. Growing up, I didn’t see many examples of female scientists, which made it difficult for me to imagine myself as a future scientist. That’s why I started this podcast — not to be a role model, but to be one of many references for those who want to imagine. On this channel, I talk with researchers about science, technology, and society — from neuroscience and science policy to women’s health and beyond.
