En ook de herhalingen worden - nog altijd trouwens - druk bekeken. In 20 van de 21 seizoenen was Johny De Coensel figurant in de reeks. Een record.

Bevroren Noordzee
De winter van 1962-1963 was meedogenloos. 71 dagen lang klom het kwik niet boven het vriespunt, van 25 december tot 5 maart. Foto’s uit die tijd doen denken aan een poollandschap en een meringue taart. "Op de Noordzee dreven klompen bevroren zeewater, zo groot als een auto." Het werd de strengste winter sinds de metingen in 1833. Niet wegens de kou, maar omdat het zo lang duurde. Yvo Peeters was toen 14 en bekeek het allemaal met grote ogen.

Gasontploffing Paardenmarkt
15 januari 2018, zat Frédéric samen met zijn vriend Paul tv te kijken thuis, het was rond half tien ‘s avonds, toen ineens een enorme gasexplosie 3 huizen met de grond gelijk maakte. Ook dat waar zij woonden. Frédéric kwam ervan af met een aantal schrammen. Paul overleefde de ramp niet.
