When Everything Dissolves: Why Staying Present Through Unbearable Pain Births the Soul

When Everything Dissolves: Why Staying Present Through Unbearable Pain Births the Soul (with Kisser Paludan) In this profoundly moving episode of Illuminary Leadership: Shaping a Bright Future Now, host Kirsten Stendevad sits down with Kisser Paludan, psychologist, spiritual teacher, and author, who walked straight through one of life's darkest passages and emerged transformed in ways that defy conventional understanding. Two years ago, while writing a book called "Live Miraculously," Kisser's husband Kim died suddenly and tragically after 35 years together. The pain was so intense she thought her heart would literally stop. Her entire psychological structure dissolved. Her identity, her home, her financial security, her sense of self. Everything she knew vanished in an instant. And rather than turn away from that abyss, she made a choice that most people find incomprehensible: she stayed present with the unbearable. No distractions. No numbing. No spiritual bypassing. She cried everywhere. In the streets, in cafes, on her podcast. She allowed the grief to move through her system completely, even when it felt like dying. And here's what happened: within weeks, she experienced profound illumination. A year and four months later, joy returned. Not manufactured positivity, but genuine soul-level joy arising from depths she didn't know existed. Today, Kisser lives what she calls "a guided life." A beautiful flat in London appeared through miraculous circumstances (complete with street signs confirming her decisions). International retreats, profound new friendships, and a book emerging from the darkness. Her life became richer, more expansive, and more connected than before the loss. All because she surrendered control and said "yes" to what wanted to emerge. But this isn't just a story about grief. It's a template for the transformation that leaders, organizations, and humanity itself must navigate right now. Because everything is dissolving. Old structures, old identities, old ways of operating. And the ego's instinct is to grip tighter, manufacture certainty, and avoid the pain of not knowing. Kisser's journey shows us another way. You will discover: Why staying present with unbearable emotions is faster than avoiding them (and how it expands your capacity to hold space for everything) The difference between psychological management and soul-level transformation (and why crisis demands the latter) How dissolving ego structure doesn't leave you powerless but actually opens channels for miraculous support Why the ability to receive is as crucial as the ability to give (and how western culture's bias toward independence blocks healing) Einstein's most important question: Do you believe you live in a cold, meaningless universe or a benevolent one conspiring for you? (Your answer determines your quality of life) The three essential elements for navigating crisis: community that holds light, spiritual practices established before crisis hits, and presence with what is Why saying "yes" to guidance (even when you don't understand) creates results the controlling ego never could How personal transformation inevitably raises collective consciousness (you are not separate from the whole) This conversation is for leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers facing dissolution of what they knew. It's for those navigating organizational transformation, personal crisis, or the collective uncertainty of our times. It's for anyone who senses that the old operating system no longer works but fears what surrender might cost. Kisser and Kirsten both walked through catastrophic loss (Kirsten lost her seven-year-old son). Both emerged not just intact but expanded. Both now dedicate their work to helping others navigate these passages. Their message is urgent and clear: we are all caterpillars in the chrysalis right now. The dissolving is terrifying because you cannot see the butterfly. But the intelligence that created you knows exactly what it's doing. As Kisser reminds us: "Love and light is our essence. It's who we truly are. Everything else is an illusion we buy into. By raising our own consciousness, we raise the consciousness of the world. It's inevitable." The darkness isn't an obstacle. It's the portal. The Female Founder OS Upgrade

Female founders are not failing because they lack ambition, intelligence, or resilience. Many are trying to build next-generation businesses while running on an operating system that was never designed for them. For decades, success has been defined by constant performance, relentless productivity, and pushing harder. But what if sustainable leadership isn't about doing more? What if it's about upgrading the internal operating system from which we lead? In this episode of Illuminary Leadership: Shaping a Bright Future Now, Kirsten Stendevad sits down with female founder of Living Yolates Mikkala Marilyn Kissi to explore why the future of female entrepreneurship requires more than better strategies. It requires a new relationship with power, leadership, wellbeing, and success itself. Together they discuss what it takes to build thriving businesses without sacrificing yourself, why inner development has become a competitive advantage, and how female founders can lead from a place of greater alignment, clarity, and impact. You will discover: Why so many female founders unknowingly operate from outdated success models What an "OS Upgrade" really means for entrepreneurs and business leaders How inner leadership shapes external business results Why sustainable success requires balancing performance with regeneration How upgrading yourself creates stronger companies, healthier cultures, and greater long-term impact This conversation is for entrepreneurs, founders, investors, and leaders who believe the future belongs not to those who simply work harder, but to those who evolve how they lead. It is also highly relevant for women who want to know what Embodied Feminine Leadership looks and feels like. The Spaghetti Principle: Why Removing Management Unlocks Everything (with Lars Kolind)

In 1988, Lars Kolind walked into a failing Danish hearing aid company and did something most business leaders would consider professional suicide. He got rid of management. No titles. No job descriptions. No hierarchy. No paper. Just people, a purpose, and the freedom to figure it out. What followed became one of the most studied organizational transformations in modern business history, a case study taught in 300 universities across China and referenced in Tom Peters' Liberation Management. But the Spaghetti Organization was never really about structure. It was about a deeper question that most companies never dare to ask: what happens when you actually trust people? In this episode of Illuminary Leadership: Shaping a Bright Future Now, Kirsten Stendevad sits down with Lars Kolind, entrepreneur, management thinker, and founder of more than 25 companies, to explore what that question costs, what it returns, and why so few leaders have the courage to find out. You will discover: Why up to 30% of company resources flow into management that produces a net negative return How a scout patrol leader taught Kolind everything he needed to know about organizational design What AI can accelerate and what it cannot replace, and why the real danger is human cognitive laziness Why sharing ownership is not generosity but the most rational competitive strategy available How opposition, handled well, becomes a company's most reliable source of innovation This conversation is for leaders who sense that the old model is not just underperforming. It is actively in the way. Resources and links Lars Kolind's books, including Unboss, are available through major booksellers. ChronoLeadership: Your Competitive Advantage In The 24/7 Society

In this episode of Illuminary Leadership: Shaping a Bright Future Now, Kirsten Stendevad is joined by PhD, engineer, author, and time activist Camilla Kring who believes that true high performance starts with understanding our circadian and social rhythms. Camilla brings in her research on chronobiology and work culture, and makes us understand why this feels so recognizable: The early meetings that never quite fit. The late hours where clarity suddenly appears. The quiet negotiation people carry within themselves every single day. She helps us realize that when time is no longer treated as a fixed frame, but something we can relate to more consciously, new forms of working life begin to emerge that is much more biofriendly and aligned with our true nature. You will discover: • Why many of the structures we take for granted around working hours were never designed with human diversity in mind • How chronobiology sheds light on energy, focus, and the invisible cost of misalignment • What begins to shift when organizations start paying attention to rhythms rather than schedules • Why flexibility often stays superficial, and what it takes for it to become real • How small changes in how we relate to time can ripple into culture, performance, and well-being Learn more about Camilla Kring Website: https://www.supernavigators.com/ Join the conversation Connect with other leaders shaping a bright future in the Illuminary Leadership community: https://www.skool.com/leaders-of-the-future-7215/about Explore deeper work Illumina Future Leadership Academy: https://www.illuminainternationalleadershipacademy.com/

The Circus Wagon Principle: Why Community Transformation Begins with Trust, Not Strategy

In this deeply human episode of Illuminary Leadership: Shaping a Bright Future Now, host Kirsten Stendevad sits down with Les Bricoleurs, a Danish collective who did something most urban planners would consider insane: they rolled a circus wagon into a "disadvantaged" Copenhagen neighborhood and stayed for 18 years. No blueprints. No bureaucratic solutions. Just presence, curiosity, and a radical question: What if these areas aren't problems to be fixed, but communities waiting to unlock their own potential? What happened next challenges everything conventional leadership teaches about transformation. Anders Hagedorn, Felix Becker, Martin Rosenkreutz Madsen, and Thor Salling discovered that the stigmatization of communities creates bigger barriers than any material condition. By simply showing up without judgment and staying long enough to build trust, they've witnessed the same pattern across multiple neighborhoods: people blossom when given ownership of their own solutions. You will discover: Why "gray zones" between formal authority and community become catalysts for transformation The difference between individual empowerment and collective empowerment (and why one actually works) How conflicts resolve themselves when people do meaningful work together The three essential factors for sustainable change that short-term grants can never achieve What Einstein meant by solving problems with a different level of thinking This conversation is for leaders who sense that top-down control isn't working anymore. It's for those ready to try something that feels counterintuitive but produces results strategy alone never could. The Real KPIs of Life: Why Love Matters More Than Achievement

In this reflective episode of Illuminary Leadership: Shaping a Bright Future Now, host Kirsten Stendevad shares a simple yet profound reminder born from a deeply human moment: attending a funeral. She invites us to pause and consider what truly counts when we reach the end of our lives, and whether our current definitions of success are serving us, our loved ones, or our planet. Drawing from research on near-death experiences and the final reflections of those who have come close to passing, Kirsten explores a question often overlooked in the modern race for productivity and progress: What are the real KPIs of life? Through this exploration, she reveals that the ultimate measures of success are not financial results or professional titles, but rather how much love we have given and received, and how deeply we have lived in alignment with what truly matters. You will discover: • Why mortality is a powerful teacher that clarifies what truly matters • How near-death research reframes success through the lens of love and presence • The link between inner peace and our collective capacity to restore balance on Earth • Why societies that value relationships and well-being are leading the way in human prosperity • Practical reflections for living each day in alignment with your deepest values This conversation is for leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers ready to measure success in a more life-affirming way, those who sense that humanity's next evolution depends not on speed or scale, but on conscious balance, compassion, and the courage to redefine what it means to lead. It is an invitation to consider what kind of legacy we are shaping, not only through what we build, but through the love and awareness we embody.
