Rob and Zack, your new best friends, have a drink and discuss movies, TV shows, games... whatever topic they've just been dying to talk about. The guys bring to the table more than a combined two decades of experience half-drunkenly rambling and arguing about entertainment. Sometimes it's just one of them, other times they'll talk with a guest, maybe?

How well do you remember Ghostbusters 2? Everyone loves the original and we've gotten a couple of remakes/reboots in the last few years, but chances are you've either forgotten about or heard bad things about the 1989 sequel. Well this week Rob & Zack are going to make a case for the sequel being better than you might think. Tune in to hear a defense of Ghostbusters 2!
We recorded this before the passing of the film's director, so we didn't get a chance until now to say RIP Ivan Reitman. You brought much joy into our lives.

Last Night in Soho
This morning let's take a look at Last Night in Soho, Edgar Wright's horror/thriller/drama about a fashion student dreaming of 1960s London. Rob & Zack recommend watching this one without any prior knowledge, so we've got a big SPOILER warning about halfway through the episode - everything up until then is safe.

Starship Troopers
Rob and Zack get riled up about Paul Verhoeven's 1997 ultra-violent sci-fi spectacle Starship Troopers. Spoilers ahead for a 24 year old movie.
Editor's Notes
1. Rob remembered correctly about a dick shooting scene in Robocop. It's weird that Zack's mind immediately went to the much more explicit fan film version.
2. The line from The Emperor's New Groove is actually "Come on men, nobody lives forever!" which Zack still thinks might be a reference.

In Defense Of The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Travel back to 1997 yet again with Rob & Zack and revisit the sequel to Jurassic Park, The Lost World. It's not as bad as you may remember it. This is the second in our ongoing subseries concisely titled In Defense Of: Maligned sequels from the 80s and 90s that look better in retrospect because those franchises have been beaten to death in recent times.

D&D & Satanic Panic
Rob & Zack are finally back and they're talking about... Dungeons & Dragons of all things. No, not the movie. They're discussing the place that D&D has in pop culture and the backlash it garnered in the Satanic Panic of the 1980s.

Nic Cage Trifecta (Mandy, Pig, Prisoners of the Ghostland)
Ready for another three-movie discussion? It's only one episode long this time, promise. This time Rob, Zack, and special guest Alex talk about the phenomenon that is Nicolas Cage while discussing three of his recent movies: Pig - a serious drama about a man whose truffle pig is taken from him; Prisoners of the Ghostland - a crappy action movie; and Mandy - a revenge flick elevated by trippy visuals, great music, and excellent direction. SPOILER WARNING for all three movies!

Editor's Note:
With regards to audio quality: We clearly have some wrinkles to iron out next time we record with a guest. Zack and Ken recorded together in front of one microphone, which is why they sound like they're in a fishbowl. Thanks for bearing with us, we'll do better next time.

Dune (2021)
Did you enjoy Dune but find yourself left with questions? Beware of SPOILERS this week as Rob and Zack discuss Denis Villeneuve's Dune Part 1 from two perspectives; Zack has read the book and Rob hasn't. Zack answers all of Rob's questions, half-remembers the book's lore, mispronounces its proper nouns, and tries not to spoil anything from Part 2. Big props to Rob for powering through the recording while recovering from a root canal.
Editor's Notes
1: Liet Kynes is in fact the JUDGE of the Change, not the HERALD as Zack and Rob mistakenly say a few times.
2: Rob and Zack were thinking of Maesters in Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire). Zack feels terrible shame that he never remembered.
