Stare Decisis

A draft of a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and the right to an abortion heads this week's episode. We analyze and admonish the Supreme Court for playing politics with Womens' bodies and overturning years of precedent.  We also discuss the lack of values in American history that leads to things like the policing of Womens' bodies and Black Americans getting gunned down while trying to go grocery shopping, for no other reason than the fact they were black.  This is a heavy episode. Grab a drink. You're going to need it.

Episode 22 - Step to the Stage

Welcome back! This is Episode 22 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed! Literally three days after we said we were going to expand the scope of the podcast, Will Smith delivers the slap heard round the world! While we don’t exactly do a deep dive into that topic, considering it has been covered ad nauseam over the past two weeks. It was important to approach that topic from a certain perspective politically. And no, he did not set black people back 100 years, or even 40 years, Texas is single handedly taking care of that all on their own. Additionally, we saw the first black woman CONFIRMED to the United States Supreme Court. We discuss why this is not only a big deal today, but why it will continue to be a moment over the next 15 to 20 years because of the symbolism. Midterms are coming up so it’s time to address, in a real way, why Democrats, progressives/liberals and leftist lose so damn much. Unless, y’all not ready to have that conversation? Well, I am. Episode 21 - Justice Jackson

Welcome back! This is Episode 21 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed! It’s been a long time … a long, long time. I shouldn’t have left you, but I needed to go and get my mind right! After a long hiatus, we are back with episode 21 of I’m Not Mad … I’m Pissed, and this week we get right into the historic Senate Confirmation Hearing for the future Supreme Court Justice Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Of course because this is America, rather than celebrating and applauding this historic occasion, the GOP did what the GOP does and tried to run this sister through the mud for their own personal gain. But are we surprised? We have known for a long time now that the party of Fowl Neck McConnell and company are less about actually helping move this country forward and more about taking us back into time. But, they didn’t account for the grace, the poise and the spirit of the black woman as Judge Jackson sat there and welcomed their challenges with the spirit of a fighter; a woman who has had to work her ass off to get to that moment. She didn’t let the mediocrity of the United States Senate steal her shine and for that we celebrate her this episode … while also kicking Ted Cruz in the teeth every chance we get. We also celebrate Dr. Russell Ledet, a former janitor turned doctor at the University where he used to sweep floors. This episode is full of black excellence, what a week to come back!
