Episode 004: Flash Fiction Trio

They live in London by the river, with their partners, kid, and dog. The first book of their fantasy series, The Deep And Shining Dark was on the Locus 2018 Recommended Reads list; the fourth and final book, The City Revealed came out in 2023. Their short fiction has appeared in venues including Uncanny, Analog, and Cast of Wonders, and they were short-listed for the WSFA Small Press Award in 2020 and 2023.</p><br><p>When not writing or child-wrangling, Juliet knits, indulges their fountain pen habit, and tries to fit an ever-increasing number of plants into a microscopic back garden. Episode 003: The Forest is a Dancer; The Fan Who Wasn't There
<p>This week we have two stories that are a bit shorter, about 1,500 words a piece. The first, in honor of Earth Day, is a climate fiction slipstream story titled, "The Forest is a Dancer" by Lynne Sargent. The second is a ghost story from William Shaw titled, "The Fan Who Wasn't There."</p><br><p><strong><u>AUTHOR BIOS</u></strong></p><br><p><strong>Lynne Sargent</strong> is a writer, aerialist, and holds a Ph.D in Applied Philosophy. They are the poetry editor at Utopia Science Fiction magazine. Their work has been nominated for Rhysling, Elgin, and Aurora Awards, and has appeared in venues such as Augur Magazine, Strange Horizons, and Daily Science Fiction. Their work has also been supported through the Ontario Arts Council.
