Core Transformation: Character at Work

GOD USES PRESSURE TO TEACH ME rESPONSIBILITY “Live life, then, with a due sense of responsibility, not as people who do not know the meaning of life, but as thosewho do.” Ephesians 5:15 I CAN BE RESPONSIBLE AT WORK BY… BY KEEPING MY PROMISES “(God blesses the one) …who always does what he promises, no matter how much it may cost.” Psalm 15:4 BY WORKING WITHOUT SUPERVISION “Don’t work hard only when your master is watching…work hard all the time, as though working for Christ.”Ephesians 6:6-7 “Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t befaithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” Luke 16:10 2. GOD USES PROBLEMS TO TEACH ME CHARACTER “We can rejoice when we run into problems and trials, for we know they are good for us - they help us learn to be patient. Core Transformation: Dealing with the Drift
Drift drift / ‘drift’/ n. (pl drifts). Walk or ride slowly, aimlessly or involuntarily “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to whatwe have heard, so that we do not drift away.”Hebrews 2:1 “But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance youreceived when you heard the Good News.”Colossians 1:23a “Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups… Test it out. If you failthe test, do something about it.” 2 Corinthians 13:5 Testing is a great GPS! How David Drifted: “One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful… Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, andhe slept with her.” 2 Samuel 11:2, 4 Choosing to stop the drift Look to God’s love for your comfort “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.”2 Corinthians 1:3 Look to God’s Word for your strength “My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word.” Psalm 119:28 Look to God’s Will as your goal “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 “Whoever wants to be my disciple must denythemselves and take up their cross and followme.” Matthew 16:24 God’s Goals=Follow Me Look to God’s grace as your hope! "Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed." 1 Peter 1:13 “He has brought us by faith into this experience of God’s grace, in which we now live.
