[…] As of a couple days ago, Pennsylvania has 1,004 measles cases this year across 39 counties. 198 people in the old hospital, five dead, and the American Academy of Pediatrics says two of them were babies. One state, about a quarter of every measles case in the U.S. this year, which is not something I ever wanted to say, and the first measles deaths there in 35 years. Here's the good news, though. People are getting the message. Pennsylvania gave more than 49,000 measles shots in August and 53,000 in September. That's twice as many as usual. Parents are showing up twice over.
