<p>Today, Iām pulling back the curtain on what really happened on April 30, 2024, when I walked into the Real America LLC officeāthe company that manages Haven Homesāto confront the mess going on with my housing. This is a story of retaliation, false accusations, and the real cost of standing up for yourself. Letās get into it!</p><p><br></p><p>āø»</p><p><br></p><p>Walking Into the Real America Office š¢</p><p><br></p><p>On April 30, 2024, I decided I had enough. I walked into the Real America LLC office to get some real answers. At first, I spoke with a receptionist, but eventually, I was told I needed to talk to Charlotte Wilson, one of their employees.</p><p><br></p><p>From the moment I sat down, I made it clearāI was there to talk about how I was being treated at Haven Homes, specifically by Rose, the property manager. I told Charlotte everything. Rose had been falsifying noise complaints to get me evictedāall because I confronted her about a late fee that wasnāt even my fault.</p><p><br></p><p>How It All Started: Family Promiseās Retaliation šØ</p><p><br></p><p>To understand why I even had that late fee, letās back up. I was in the rapid rehousing program run by Family Promise, but they kicked me out because I held them accountable.</p><p><br></p><p>At my previous place, The Barlow, I had serious issues:</p><p>ā Windows that wouldnāt lock ā meaning I didnāt feel safe.</p><p>ā A maintenance man harassing me ā making me feel even more unsafe.</p><p><br></p><p>I spoke up about these issues, but instead of fixing them, Family Promise retaliated. They removed me from the program and refused to pay my rent, which led to the late fee on my account.</p><p><br></p><p>Roseās Retaliation: Using Fake Noise Complaints to Force Me Out š š«</p><p><br></p><p>Now, back to Haven Homes. After Family Promiseās retaliation, Rose decided to pile on the harassment. She:</p><p>ā Emailed multiple organizations about my situation without my permission</p><p>ā Tried to make me feel guilty for the late feeāwhich wasnāt even my fault</p><p>ā Filed fake noise complaints against me to build a case for eviction</p><p><br></p><p>I confronted her about it. And what did she do? Played the victim. She acted like I was wrong for calling her out on her retaliation.</p><p><br></p><p>What Happened at Real America That Day? š¤</p><p><br></p><p>During my conversation with Charlotte Wilson, I laid it all out. I told her how I was being targeted, how Rose was weaponizing the system against me, and how this was a clear case of retaliation.</p><p><br></p><p>Charlotte listened, but did she really care? š¤·š¾āāļø Thatās the question. Because instead of action, all I got was a bunch of corporate runaround.</p><p><br></p><p>āø»</p><p><br></p><p>Why This Matters & Whatās Next š„</p><p><br></p><p>This wasnāt just about me. <p>On April 30, 2024, I was directed by Charlotte Wilson to return to Haven Homes to have a conversation with Nina Robinson, who was the Vice President of Real America at the time. I was hoping for a real discussion about the false noise complaints being used to push me outābut what I got instead was gaslighting, blame-shifting, and zero accountability.</p><p><br></p><p>In this episode, I break down my conversation with Nina, where I:</p><p><br></p><p>š© Called out Roseās blatant disrespect toward me as a resident.</p><p>š Demanded actual proof of the noise complaints before accepting any write-ups.</p><p>š¤ Asked for mediation, only to be told I just had to ādeal with it.ā</p><p>š” Was pressured to say I wanted to move out, despite not having the resources to do so.</p><p><br></p><p>And hereās where it gets real shadyā¦</p><p><br></p><p>š Why did Rose wait until April 29th to serve me complaints from April 14th-17thādays I wasnāt even home?</p><p>š The person who filed the complaint lived in a different cul-de-sacāgeographically impossible for me to bang on their wall.</p><p>ā After further investigation, I found out the actual complainer lived in apartment 218āon the second floor! Not under me. Not next to me. Nowhere near my unit.</p><p><br></p><p>This was a setup from the start. Instead of accountability, Nina gaslit me, telling me my only options were to ādeal with itā or end my lease. But as someone in affordable housing, I didnāt have the resources to just pick up and move. So what was I supposed to do?
