   Season 7 Ep. 8 - Levi Erickson

Levi Erickson: No Anger Control, Comic Books & Never Sitting Still On this episode of ImVibes Podcast, we sit down with Levi Erickson of No Anger Control for a conversation that covers decades of punk, hardcore, music, art, and staying busy. Levi takes us back to discovering music through skateboarding, picking up the guitar as a teenager, and playing in bands across California, Kansas, Maine, and beyond before eventually becoming part of the Charlotte punk scene. He shares stories from the late-'90s New England hardcore scene, including shows with bands like The Unseen, Ducky Boys, Global Threat, Dropkick Murphys, and Blood for Blood, as well as the friendships and experiences that helped shape his musical journey. We also get into the history of No Anger Control, how the band came together, adding Tiff to the lineup, their years of playing shows, and the possibility of new material and future vinyl releases. And because Levi never seems to sit still, we dive into his work as a comic book writer and artist, conventions, creating his own books, Charlotte's disappearing music history, old-school punk flyers, vinyl, skateboarding, and the philosophy of simply keeping your brain engaged and continuing to make shit happen. As always, expect plenty of stories, music talk, tangents, laughs, and the occasional squirrel. Good music. Good libations. Good vibes.

   Season 7 Ep. 7 - BELLBOX

FINALLY! It's a rough edit with no intro or outro but the episode is now on podcast platforms. This week on the ImVibes Podcast, we sit down with Jay, singer and songwriter for Charlotte/Wilmington punk outfit Bellbox. Jay talks about stepping away from music, finding his way back, and realizing that sometimes you just have to make music because you love it. We get into how Bellbox came together, the band’s unique lineup and chemistry, their DIY recording process, and why they made releasing vinyl a priority from the very beginning. With their new single “Happy Pill” out NOW and more songs already recorded for future seven-inch releases, Bellbox clearly isn’t wasting any time. Jay also shares stories about his musical influences, the Chapel Hill punk scene, Superchunk and Archers of Loaf, Riot Fest, touring, old friends, vinyl collecting, and the realities of being a middle-aged punk rocker with a family and a day job. It's a conversation about punk rock, friendship, getting older, making records, and refusing to stop doing the thing you love. This is our golf.

   Season 7 Ep. 6 - Dumpster Service

On this episode of ImVibes Podcast, we sit down with Dumpster Service for a conversation that is every bit as unpredictable as their live shows. Captain D and Bones Malone take us through the band's origins, from basement jams and Black Sabbath covers to developing their own brand of heavy, sludge-infused music. They share the unlikely story behind the Dumpster Service name, how they met, and the chemistry that turned two musicians into a band. We also get into their legendary DIY performances—from playing out of vans, trucks, and trailers to setting up a generator across from an actual Melvins show and getting shut down after three songs. And because Dumpster Service doesn't really believe in setlists, they talk about their love of improvisation and how some of their best riffs have come from simply making it up as they go. Add stories about playing inside an actual dumpster, their musical influences, and song titles like “Hulk on Acid,” “Bruce Dickinson,” “Diarrhea,” “Someone Stole My Bike,” and “Swamp Thing,” and you've got one hell of an ImVibes conversation. Dumpster Service doesn't just play shows—they turn just about anywhere into a stage.
