Burnout, Anxiety & Trying to Hold My Sh*t Together

The past few weeks completely knocked the wind out of me. Between an incredibly stressful stretch at work, planning Tony and I’s engagement party, helping Tony recover from a herniated disc, and navigating an unexpected family situation, I found myself mentally and emotionally exhausted.

And then... I started overthinking the fact that I wasn’t creating content.

Again.

In this episode, I’m talking honestly about what happens when your brain never seems to stop running. The pressure to show up perfectly. The belief that every post has to happen in the exact right moment.

I share the moment I first realized my level of worrying wasn’t actually “normal,” along with the story of eventually being diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder after years of assuming everyone else’s brain worked like mine.

If you’ve ever spiraled because someone didn’t text you back, convinced yourself the worst-case scenario was happening, or felt guilty for disappearing when life got overwhelming, I hope this conversation helps you feel a little less alone.

In this episode I talk about:

* Why overthinking hinders our ability to accept that posting something “not relevant” is totally okay

* What the last few exhausting weeks have looked like behind the scenes

* The pressure to always show up consistently online

* Learning to embrace imperfect content

* The first time I realized my anxiety wasn’t “normal”

* My experience being diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder

* Why giving yourself grace is often harder than giving it to everyone else

Thank you for spending part of your day with me. I’m grateful you’re here, whether you’ve been listening from the beginning or just found this little corner of the internet.

Some raw honesty: I want to get my Substack articles more attention, but I knew if I added the elements I usually do (polls, photos, links etc), then this episode will continue to get pushed back. So I’m hitting publish anyway!

Hop in the group chat if you wanna talk more about this topic <3

Get full access to In-Between Chapters at honestamber.substack.com/subscribe

Were We All Brainwashed Into Chasing Success?

This episode started as a continuation of my last conversation about embracing my inconsistent energy, but it quickly turned into something much deeper.

After learning more about my Human Design Motivation, Innocence, I found myself reflecting on patterns I've repeated for years in business, content creation, and goal setting. What began as curiosity about my chart led to an unexpected realization about why so many of my past online business efforts felt exhausting, forced, and ultimately led to burn out.

Then I had an epiphany that stopped me in my tracks.

For years, nearly every business expert, coach, course, and program I followed measured success with the same metric: six figures.

Six-figure launches.Six-figure funnels.Six-figure businesses.Six-figure months.

And suddenly a thought hit me:

"What if I was brainwashed?"

In this episode, I explore how money became the primary focus of my goals, why that may have been pulling me further away from my natural motivation, and what it means to redefine success on my own terms.

We talk about:

Why "Innocence" motivation in Human Design challenged the way I approach goals

The realization that many online business spaces prioritize revenue above everything else

How external definitions of success can quietly shape our decisions

Why I struggled to stay aligned with previous business models

The difference between chasing outcomes and following genuine curiosity

Creating a version of success that feels meaningful, sustainable, and authentic

If you've ever felt like everyone else received a rulebook for success that never quite fit you, this conversation might be exactly what you need to hear.

Because maybe the goal isn't to become a six-figure version of someone else.

Maybe the goal is to become more of yourself.

Human Design Reading links:

Mini Reading

Full Pre-Recorded Reading

Subscribe on Substack:

Get full access to In-Between Chapters at honestamber.substack.com/subscribe

What If You're Not Mean't to be Consistent?

I recorded this episode while I was at work. In this episode, I’m sharing a real-time realization I had about my so-called “inconsistency”… and why I’m starting to see it completely differently.

For a long time, I thought my inability to stay consistent meant something was wrong with me. That I needed more discipline, a better plan, or more structure.

But after diving deeper into my Human Design—and actually observing my energy in real life—I’m realizing that what I labeled as inconsistency might just be me working against my natural rhythm.

This episode was recorded in a very unfiltered, in-the-moment way (literally while I was at work), because I’m experimenting with something new: creating when the energy is there instead of trying to save it for the “perfect” time.

If you’ve ever:

-struggled to stick to routines

-felt productive at random times but not when you “should” be

-started things with excitement and lost momentum

-questioned your ability to follow through

this episode will probably hit home.

We’ll talk about:

-Why forcing consistency might be the problem

-How to start paying attention to your natural energy patterns

-What it looks like to work with your energy instead of against it

-And how you can begin taking inventory of your own rhythms

This is less about fixing yourself…and more about understanding yourself.

For those who are interested in having a fun chat about this with others who also struggle with consistency, I am opening a group chat on my Substack page!

Click this link to access my Substack page, and once you subscribe you will get access to the chat!

Find me on instagram!: www.instagram.com/amber.talarico

Get full access to In-Between Chapters at honestamber.substack.com/subscribe
