About in between season

Welcome to The In-Between Season — a space for midlife women navigating the messy middle: changing bodies, shifting identities, kids growing up, your new dreams showing up late to the party… all of it. Midlife is basically the plot twist nobody warned us about. So, let’s chat with honesty, humor, and zero pressure to have it all figured out — because none of us got that manual, apparently. Pull up a chair. Take a breath. You’re in the right place, I'll see ya soon!

Can I Be Honest? I’m Second Guessing All of it!

I’m Second Guessing Everything (And I Didn’t Expect This) I thought starting would make things clearer. Instead… I’m questioning everything. In this episode, I’m talking about something I didn’t expect when I started this podcast and YouTube channel — the second guessing, the self-doubt, and the quiet fear of being seen while you’re still figuring it out. Not when things go wrong… but when you’re doing something, you actually care about. We talk about: Why second guessing shows up when you start something new The fear of judgment (especially from people you know) The tension between evolving vs feeling inconsistent Why we want to pivot the second something feels uncomfortable And how to keep going when you don’t feel fully confident yet If you’ve ever thought: “What if I’m doing this all wrong?” If this hit a little close, then follow me here: Join my weekly Sunday email, The In-Between Reset (https://the-in-between-season.kit.com/11d2920e32) one honest reflection and one simple reset to help you navigate this season without pressure to have it all together. Is It Just Me, Something Feels Off?

Can We Talk About This Feeling for a Minute? You built a good life. You worked for it. You’re grateful for it. On paper… everything looks exactly like it’s supposed to. So why does something still feel… off? Not broken. Not wrong. Just… unsettled. In this episode, we’re talking about the quiet tension a lot of women feel in midlife — when life is stable, but something inside you is shifting. Not a crisis. Not a dramatic reinvention. Just that subtle, persistent feeling that there might be something more… even if you can’t quite define it yet. We get into: Why this feeling shows up when life finally slows down The mental tug-of-war between gratitude and restlessness Why this doesn’t mean anything is wrong What it actually means to outgrow a version of yourself And why this feeling keeps coming back (even when you try to ignore it) If you’ve ever thought: “My life is good… so why does something feel off?” This conversation is for you. You’re not behind. You’re just in between.

Midlife Realizations: Things I No Longer Have the Energy For

Things I Don’t Have the Energy For Anymore At some point in midlife, something shifts. It’s not that you become less capable. It’s that your tolerance changes. Things that once felt normal suddenly feel exhausting — crowded places, pointless conversations, uncomfortable shoes… and pretending everything is fine when it’s not. In this episode, we’re talking about the quiet realization many of us reach in midlife: You don’t actually have to spend your energy on everything anymore. And honestly? That realization is kind of freeing. In This Episode We talk about some very real midlife shifts, including: Why annoying conversations suddenly feel unbearable The surprising lack of tolerance for crowded places Why uncomfortable shoes officially lose their appeal The hidden exhaustion of pretending everything is fine when it’s not And how midlife can actually help you become more selective with your energy Because midlife isn’t about having less energy. It’s about finally recognizing how valuable your energy actually is. A Simple Energy Check-In One thing that became clear while recording this episode is that our energy often falls into three categories: 1️⃣ What drains you quickly unnecessary drama pointless conversations things you said yes to but instantly regretted 2️⃣ What drains you slowly obligations you’ve outgrown expectations you never questioned routines that don’t really fit your life anymore 3️⃣ What gives you energy meaningful conversations solving problems you care about creating something meaningful quiet space Often, the things that energize you are pointing toward what matters most in this season. This Week’s Reflection Take a moment to notice: What drains your energy quickly? What drains it slowly? And what actually gives you energy again? You don’t have to fix anything today. Just pay attention. Things I Thought I'd Have Figured Out By Now

Things I Thought I’d Have Figured Out By Now I’m 52. And I really thought by now I’d have a few more things locked in. Like there would be some invisible ceremony somewhere between 45 and 50 where someone hands you a certificate that says: “Congratulations. You now understand your body, your purpose, and your identity.” Apparently… that’s not how this works. In this lighter, more personal episode, I’m sharing four things I genuinely thought I’d have figured out by now — and what I’m realizing instead: Why health and fitness still feel like a moving target Why clarity about your “next chapter” doesn’t arrive fully packaged Why confidence isn’t automatic just because you’ve lived some life And what it feels like to be the oldest one in the room… and actually own it If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking, “How do I not have this figured out yet?” This episode is for you. Because not having everything locked in doesn’t mean you’re behind. It might mean you’re still becoming. This Week’s Light Reflection What’s one thing you thought you’d have mastered by now? Instead of judging yourself… just smile at it and keep being a badass Want to go deeper? Why Slowing Down Feels So Uncomfortable (Especially for Capable Women)

Why Slowing Down Feels So Uncomfortable (Especially for Capable Women) Slowing down sounds peaceful. Until you actually try it. In this episode, we’re talking about something most capable women don’t say out loud: Rest doesn’t feel restful. It feels uncomfortable. Sometimes even irresponsible. When the calendar opens up, many of us don’t relax. We feel behind. Behind on the house. Behind on the family. Behind on the invisible to-do list that never actually ends. And underneath all of that? A deeper fear: If I slow down… will I lose momentum? In this episode, we explore: Why productivity becomes a safety net How being “the reliable one” wires us to equate output with worth Why midlife creates space we don’t know what to do with The difference between momentum and meaning Why rest feels unfamiliar — not weak If you’ve ever struggled to sit still without feeling guilty, this conversation is for you. You’re not lazy. You were trained to perform. This Week’s Reflection Instead of trying to “get better at resting,” just notice: What comes up when there’s space? Guilt? Anxiety? The urge to be useful? Fear of losing momentum? You don’t have to fix it. Just get curious. Because sometimes the most productive thing you can do… is understand why slowing down feels so hard. Why the In-Between Season Exists (and Why You’re Not Behind)

There’s a season of life we don’t talk about enough. The part where you don’t hate your life… but something feels different. The part where the old version of you doesn’t quite fit — and the next version hasn’t fully formed yet. In this first episode, I’m talking about what the “in-between season” really is, why it feels uncomfortable, and why you’re not behind — even if it feels like you should have it all figured out by now. If you’ve been quietly asking, “Okay… now what?” — this conversation is for you. In This Episode: What the “in-between season” actually means Why clarity doesn’t arrive on command Why capable women struggle most in this phase The lie that says “by now, I should know” Why this isn’t a breakdown — it’s a transition Why capable women struggle most with uncertainty This Week’s Gentle Reflection: Where in your life do you feel the shift — but haven’t said it out loud yet? When You Don't Hate Your Life - But Still Want Something Different

When You Don’t Hate Your Life — But Still Want Something Different You don’t hate your life. You worked hard for it. You built it intentionally. You’re grateful for it. So why does something still feel unfinished? In this episode, we’re talking about the quiet tension that shows up in midlife when nothing is technically wrong — but you can’t ignore the pull toward something more. Not a dramatic reinvention. Not burning everything down. Just the steady sense that your impact, ownership, and contribution might be shifting. We’ll unpack: Why wanting more doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful The difference between escape and expansion Why it’s so hard to pinpoint what you actually want The “job spiral” that happens when you assume the container is the problem And what it really means to crave ownership in this season If you’ve ever thought, “I should just be content… so why do I feel this way?” This conversation is for you. Wanting more doesn’t mean you’re dissatisfied. It may simply mean you’re not done contributing. Weekly Reflection Question Where in your life do you want more ownership — not more chaos, not more responsibility — but more impact? Just notice where that question lands. Want to go deeper? You Don’t Have to Be Who You Were (And You Don’t Have to Know What’s Next Yet)

You Don’t Have to Be Who You Were (And You Don’t Have to Know What’s Next Yet) There’s a strange space in midlife where you’re no longer who you used to be… but you’re not fully sure who you’re becoming either. You still show up. You’re still capable. You’re still responsible. But something feels different. In this episode, we’re talking about identity lag — that gap between the version of you that carried your first chapter and the version that’s quietly forming now. We’ll explore: What happens when you outgrow a role before you’ve grown into the next one Why hesitation around “What do you do?” is more common than you think How productivity quietly became tied to worth Why this undefined phase isn’t failure — it’s transition And how to release overexertion without losing ambition You don’t have to erase who you were. You don’t have to resurrect her either. You’re allowed to evolve — without proving anything. Reflection What would it look like to stop measuring yourself against who you used to be? And what part of that version of you might be ready to evolve? This Week’s Gentle Action The next time someone asks what you do, notice how you answer. Do you default to who you used to be? Do you minimize what you do now? Do you hesitate? Just notice. No fixing required. Want to go deeper?
