About In Between The Sessions
In Between Sessions is exactly that - everything that happens behind the scenes while being a therapist that no one talks about! Everyone talks about scaling up and the excitement of starting a practice, but they forget to tell you the real everyday struggles of being a new business owner and mental health private practitioner, navigating the uncertain frontier called entrepreneurship. It’s not just therapy, it’s business, and it’s the only podcast you need to laugh and learn as you start and build your practice. Join your hosts Amanda Fludd, LCSW-R and Katiusica Gray, LCSW-R as they talk about the pitfalls, strategies, mindset shifts, and action steps to help you successfully transition from therapist to entrepreneur and back again. Follow their journey through a montage of personal stories, professional tips, interviews with other therapists, and extraordinary business experts, with a dash of telenovela moments, as we take a closer look at life in between sessions.

IBTS Season 2 Episode 1 - Community
In Between The Sessions is back! We honestly intended to return in January which came and went, and then February was looking really promising and then Covid came, and our intentions shifted to saving the practice and showing up for our community. Its been beyond words, but as we've already learned, NOTHING GOES AS PLANNED, and we are the bounce back queens!! We've scrapped alot of our segments to really focus on you. You the business owner, the human, the entrepreneur. It's now all about helping you survive emotionally and financially and our behind the scenes shenanigans along the way. This episode kicks us off with the concept of community, what it means, getting over yourself and how to build your brand and still support someone else everyday! We are all in this #together. The founder behind Mess in A Bottle, Ms. Kalilah Wright, kicks us off with her story and the mindset we need to build each other and thrive. Make sure to check her out at @messinabottle on instagram and she has a podcast too! Welcome to Season Two!!! Who we are: Katiuscia Gray is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Supervisor, and Certified Yoga Instructor with a group private practice in the NYC area. Kat combines the teachings of yoga into therapy to heal the mind, body, and soul, primarily for children and millennial women. Topped off with her dynamic energy, select choice of words, and over 13 years of clinical skills, she is an exceptional breed of black girl magic. Learn more about her at: https://mmholisticservices.com Amanda Fludd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Therapy Is Dope, a platform used to destigmatize mental health, especially for minority communities, and also runs a group private practice in NYC. The mind and body are a strong focus of her work as she strives to improve access to quality psychotherapy at a community level. With a strong psychiatric background, the art of change shows up through therapy, educating up and coming therapists, consultations and trainings for professionals.
