If you are anything like me, it does not take much to forget God's faithfulness and His goodness. Between social media distractions and life's everyday dose of hardships, I am fighting for my life trying to hold on tight to the hem of Jesus. Don't think I've got it all together. I don't. But that's why I'm inviting you into this space with me for on-point and on-time biblical truths to help us anchor when life would have us burn out and drift. This is in case i forget. I am your host Miki. Let's get to it. Hey sister! Welcome to in case i forget - a space created to connect women to Christ and each other through on-time and on-point biblical truth, testimony reminders and a Christ Centered Pen Pal Club. This podcast was born out of my repentance (again) for forgetting what God has brought me through and for letting my doubt and uncertainty bring me to a place of control and fear. I was reading through Exodus, and of course, I couldn't understand how the Israelites could be so forgetful! He sent 10 plagues for their freedom. God literally just took them through two walls of ocean. He fed them manna . . . from heaven! And yet, they complained as though God had done nothing. It was during this thought process that the Holy Spirit convicted me. . . Miki, you literally do the same. See I was in the middle of a very hard transition - one that was soooo full of God, and yet, my problems felt bigger than the God who so clearly carried us through so many things. Here, we talk theology and testimonies because we "overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony" (Revelation 12:11), and "until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,[a] to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13 ESV).    Take our Pen Pal Type Quiz here and find how you would fit in your sister circle! Finding community as an adult can feel a lot harder than it should. When you're a mom, a wife, a college student, starting a new job, moving to a new city, or simply walking through a new season of life, making friends can easily fall to the bottom of the list. But that doesn't mean we're meant to do life alone. In this episode of in case i forget, we're getting practical about where we can actually go to find community. I’m sharing some of the places where I’ve personally found friendship, from a breastfeeding support group after having my son, to hobbies, book clubs, pickleball, pen pals, library programs, and church. Some of these opportunities are free, and some take a little more intentionality, but they all have something in common: they put you in spaces with people who are also looking for connection. We’ll talk about why picking up a hobby can be more than just learning something new, how writing letters can create unexpected connection even from hundreds of miles away, and why church is about more than simply attending a service. And I want you to remember this: There are places all around you with people who are looking for people like you. You may have to put in some work. You may have to walk into a room where you don't know anyone. You may have to open the door before you know exactly what will happen. But you are not alone. This is the fifth episode in the Open Door series, and next week we’re moving into Hebrews chapter 3.    ep 26 1/2 - Think on These Things: Building Godly Friendships

   Let's be real: friendship is a gift, and it's meant to be true, honorable, pure, and lovely. Take a quick heart-check with scripture, skip the gossip, and try praying for someone in the moment instead of just saying you will. Little intentional acts like speaking kindly, owning our faults, and choosing community over cliques actually transform our relationships. You don't have to be perfect, just present and willing to grow.

   ep 26 - Are You the Kind of Friend You're Looking For? | Philippians 4:8

   Finding community as an adult can be incredibly difficult,  especially when you're in a season of transition. Maybe you've moved to a new city. Maybe you're looking for a new church, you've started a new job, you're postpartum, or you're simply realizing that the friendships you once had don't look the same anymore. Before we start turning over every rock and crevice looking for friends, there's another question we have to ask: What kind of friend am I? In this episode of in case i forget, we're continuing our conversation about community by looking at what Scripture has to say about the kind of people we are becoming, and the kind of people we're looking for. Starting in Philippians 4, we talk about being true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, and worthy of praise. We talk about gossip, confidentiality, prayer, vulnerability, and what it means to actually be someone who can be trusted. And then we get into something I've personally had to wrestle through: what happens when the people around us don't agree with us? Different parenting styles. Different political views. Different doctrines. Different ways of seeing the world. Does every difference have to become a barrier to friendship? Or can we learn to show grace, pursue peace, and recognize what actually matters when we're building community? This one gets personal because these aren't just things I've read about. These are things I've had to practice myself in real-world time. And honestly, there's still more to talk about.
