We Asked Strangers At Bondi Beach To Tell Us Their Secrets | IN THE FIELD

Our favourite part of the internet is, of course, the comment section. Our job is literally reacting to and dissecting our FYPs: but we wanted to go a little further this week. We're feeling nosey. We're feeling like allll those little commenters hiding behind their Tik Tok profile pictures might have their own drama going on. So naturally we took to the streets with a sharpie and a fold out table. Did we want an excuse to get gossip from strangers? Yes. You're welcome, we know you want it too. Our takeaways include: It should be more socially acceptable to ask strangers for their secrets with no context Guinea pigs should never, under any circumstances, be left unsupervised The book of answers is ALWAYS right Should we do this again?? Kiss Jake Shane, Marry Richard E. Grant & F*ck A Real Live Alien

Wait lol I don't think that's the game. We're breaking down this week on the internet, so give your thumbs a rest from scrolling and picture the glimmer in Richard E. Grant's eyes to calm your soul. There are 3 things we have to cover: Jake Shane. You probably love him, you've definitely consumed his content at some point, but is his internet persona a facade? We realised today that we miiiight not know the successful 20-something as well as we thought we did. Sir Richard E. Grant is on the new season of Celebrity Traitors and holy moly if we didn't already adore him, we sure do now. He's got this interesting way of using social media that we want to examine, because we don't think anyone can truly replicate it. Plus: Aliens are real and no one is talking about it. GUYS. The CIA literally confirmed that they found aliens (allegedly) and no one gives a f*ck. One of us is a skeptic and the other is fully ready to embrace interplanetary travel. Aaaand a listener story that poses the question: Did he ghost me, or is he just in jail? Why Taylor Swift's Encore Is A GENIUS Business Move, MMA Fighters & Dating Adam Driver from 'Girls'

Okay so. We had this whole dating episode ready to go, but then Taylor Swift pulled some weird shit... so bare with us while we digest The Encore in real time. TLDR: we will not be rushing to Cleveland any time soon. Back to scheduled programming, 🔥 OUR DATING LIVES 🔥(dm us if you're single haha jk or not idk). We're telling our worst dating stories which include: An Irish MMA fighter A man on house arrest and... Adam Driver? From Girls? And we asked you, our beautiful Superstars, for your dating dilemmas on Tik Tok. The video went viral and we got some crazy (and concerning) questions. Like, "The guy I'm seeing is a conspiracy theorist who believes dinosaurs still exist. But he's hot. Do I keep him around or nah?" and "My boyfriend keeps giving me the ick. There's no question really. I want to break up with him, pls tell me if I'm a terrible person." Cool. So. Grace Reiter's Hunger Games (But Better) Sequel, Celebrity Rebrands & A Diss Track Written By Nuns

It's time we talk about our architectural digest obsession, specifically the bizarre celebrity stories that have surfaced as a result of the interviews. E.g. Katy Perry allegedly got in a fight with the Catholic Church because she wanted to buy a convent from them, and tried to show them her Jesus tattoo to seal the deal. They probably said "tutt tutt Ms Perry, you kissed a girl and we did not like it". Also, an investigation into the one man behind every iconic celebrity rebrand: we're talking Sabrina Carpenter, Emma Chamberlin, Owen Thiele... the list goes on. Who is Jared Ellner, and more importantly, what is the catalyst for these rebrands? And our new favourite show, Last Man On Earth. What would YOU do if you were the last person on earth? Would you steal sh*t? Walk around naked? Would you, like, try and repopulate the earth? Finally, the Youtube to SNL pipeline. Kidding — that's very Grace Reiter specific —but the path to fame looks more and more attainable with every indie film nominated for an Emmy. Liv Colman thinks she's cracked the secret: skits are the way to Hollywood. And her theory points to one specific duo making videos in their living room who are about to blow up. Is this our sign to cast ourselves in something?? (Pls say yes) (we sing a lot in this episode) (we were going to call it 'The Musical Episode' but we didn't want Matthew Morrison affiliations). A Bizarre Twist In Sydney Sweeney's Ad, Theo James Is Sh*t Stirring & Elizabeth Holmes' Next Move

You've seen the Sydney Sweeney ad by now. You've read and watched and listened to the backlash and you've likely felt the disappointment of the Suffragettes slowly crushing your soul. But we've just discovered something that no one is talking about: Sydney allegedly approached THEM with the idea. What the actual f*ckkkkk bro. On today's episode of In The Comments, we're unpacking Sydney Sweeney's motivations. As much as we want to pin this on Sam Levinson or Scooter Braun, is there really an invisible hand to blame? Or is she firmly in control? Also the juicy financial details, including how much she ACTUALLY made from this campaign. Other things on the show today: Nathan Fielder is back in the zeitgeist with his Elizabeth Holmes documentary, You Can See Everything. It's dropping next month and here's what you need to know about the documentarian behind the vision to prepare. Spoiler alert: this is NOT going to be a normal documentary. The Gentlemen has us in a chokehold this week. Shall we start a Theo James fan account... And do you know those fake phone calls you can play when you're in a ride share or walking alone? We've prepped some of our own versions. They include a prison release, an ankle monitor, and multiple celebrity impressions. Sorry, How Many D*cks Broke At Burning Man??

You might've opened social media over the weekend and thought, "Why is Alix Earle EVERYWHERE". Same dude. Her new reality show Earle Meets World came out on Netflix and if you haven't already seen it, allow Liv James to save 8 hours of your life. Her family is genuinely insane. Move over Kardashians, the influencer families are coming for you. Also Burning Man happened and no one cared. Have we all deemed it a bit millennial? Yes. Did you guys know that they ACTUALLY burn a man? It's quite impressive the amount of insanity they cram into a week in the desert, and we have some absolutely INSANE stories to tell from previous years. And a festival with a slightly different target audience: The Venice Film festival. Robert Pattinson we love you and your shenanigans <3 But also Phoebe Bridgers pics!! That dress. Holy. Sh*t. And a listener encounter with Dolly Parton, may she rest in peace. We remember Dolly and hear about the time our listener, a journalist, walked in on her hotel room (iconic). Meg Stalter Is God, Erling Haaland Is Jesus & David Attenborough Is The Holy Spirit

It's buzzcut season, and the bald heads in Hollywood are multiplying. First it was Haaland, the Olympic viking. Then Connor Storrie of Heated Rivalry fame. WHO WILL BREAK OUR HEARTS NEXT. Other hyper-fixations this week include: Meg Stalter (and Lena Dunham) The great migration. Relatedly, wildebeest. Male celebrities who carry designer handbags. Also Liv Colman got prank called by a nun. Yes. You read that right. We investigate who this mystery voice mail belongs to (spoiler alert, it's a nun). Exposing Industry Plants, Weird Twin Sh*t & Cancelled Celebrities

Is Ellie Ellis an industry plant? You've seen her on your FYP: the slightly awkward girl with long brown hair and a British accent, putting on makeup and chatting about her day. Simple, endearing, but not necessarily original. And yet... she's gained over 700k followers this week. We investigate infamous industry plants to determine whether the shoe fits. And why "ow my eyes hurt" is a trending search on Tik Tok (it's Carrie Bradshaw's fault) (nah just kidding it's the moon or something). Maybe our eyes are finally turning square omggg. Also the famous twin influencers whose partners didn't sign up for this sh*t: we're talking about Acquired Style. Filming your husband is one thing, but filming him looking like he hates you? A veeeery strange marketing strategy that may be fuelled by twin rivalry. Lol we also played 'guess the cancelled celebrity'. The internet is your oyster, HIGHLY recommend. And for the cherry on top, some worst first date ideas inspired by a viral video. Unfortunately we have an abundance of nightmare dating stories so we simply HAVE to share them. The 'Let's Marry Harry' Drama, Wicker Fanfic & A Very Tasteful LA Burglar

Welcome back chickies, we're so happy to have you in the comments with us today! If you saw the title and clicked for fanfic, you're in for a treat. This week Kaia Gerber admitted to writing fan fiction for 'wellness' purposes, and as former Watt-pad kids, we've never been more excited. We performing the fanfic we wrote about each other, including mythical creatures and celebrity breakups. Our producer gave us a word count and we ignored it (sorry not sorry). Also, would you marry Harry Jowsey? One man, twenty women and A LOT of shit stirring. The new show by Alex Cooper's Unwell Network is, somehow, even more strange than we anticipated. And a piece of furniture famous for the wrong reasons. Why is the Mah Jong couch constantly referred to in songs and media? Well, it's more complicated than you might think, and involves a series of robberies. Imagine deciding that your niche as a burglar is brightly coloured couches. Iconic. Plus the Kardashian/Jenner birthday party that has the internet confused, and why we could never be friends with a billionaire. Strap in superstars, we'll see you in the comments xx P.S. We spent the day handing out love notes on the street to strangers, so if you found us out in the world, welcome! The Influencers Banned From Nantucket, Role Model's Hard Launch & Flute Beatboxing

We're back for round two baby. And thank god we are, because there's a LOT to unpack In The Comments this week. Role Model hard launched his relationship with Dakota Johnson by featuring her in a song, and can you think of anything more wholesome. We love them, but some people are confused so we've got a timeline to track their sparks (no pun intended) (sorry Chris Martin of Coldplay fame). Something happened in Nantucket. Do we know where Nantucket is? Not really. Ceebs to google it. But a shop has gone viral for banning influencers and now we'd like to understand... why. One of us is obsessed with Master Wu, the guy who teaches Kung Fu and whacks people with big sticks on Tik Tok. He's amassed over a million followers, and we'd like to sign up. Plus, a listener story about erectile disfunction and flute beatboxing. The headline writes itself. Zoella's Donkey Sanctuary, A Hollywood Prison Break & Our Favourite 'Child' Star

Welcome to In The Comments! We've got a couch, two fully charged phones, and at least 20 hours of daily screen time between us. Strap in, because we're unpacking all the crazy sh*t we've seen on our FYPs this week: Christopher Nolan, director of pretentious films (The Odyssey, Interstellar, Dark Knight Rises etc), has a secret sibling. AND he's an alleged criminal. The story is so insane it could be a movie (okayyy we're foreshadowing). Have you scrolled past that little blond kid who posts home videos from the early 2000s? Well, we've tracked him down. Olivia Rodrigo has been papped with a new brunette. And we listened to 'Cigarette Smoke' 267 times in June so do with that what you will. Her new guy works in finance, and ffs if another lanky brunette starts talking about Bitcoin we will scream. And we're leading an investigation on internet icons who have disappeared. We saw Ethan Dolan holding a child (??) It was like seeing an ex. Also Zoella has an 'illegal' donkey farm we think lol Love you superstars xx THE END BITS Support independent women's media.
