In Ecclesiastes 12:1-8, Solomon paints a picture of how fragile life is and what it looks like to live with God vs. without Him. Without Him, the things that once felt so exciting and purposeful can grow dull and redundant. With Him, even hard times can’t steal our hope, because this isn’t our final destination. We get to live with an exciting expectation of eternal life that never runs out. Today we’re talking about stewarding the hours God has breathed into us and seeking Him first - while we have the chance.
Reflection questions:
1. What are you most looking forward to right now, and where does your hope in Jesus fit alongside it?
2. Are you chasing “excitement” or thrill in a way that’s costing you closeness with your Creator?
3. How are you stewarding your God-breathed hours and minutes, and who are you sharing the Gospel with?

God's Design for Work Isn't Burnout
Hustle culture says exhaustion is success. What if God never designed you to live that way?
In today’s quiet time, I got stuck on one verse, Ecclesiastes 10:15. This verse points us to something so big: God designed work as a gift in the Garden, the fall made it heavy and toilsome, and Jesus came to bring us back to His original intent. We underline how it all points to Jesus, the Way, and how the righteous can work without growing weary because they find their rest in Him. This is an important reminder for our quick-paced, striving society!
Reflection questions:
1. Are you exhausting yourself in vain? Where do you feel most drained?
2. Who is your work really for? Why do you do it?
3. Where is your identity resting right now: in what you accomplish, or in Christ?

Impact Comes From Sharpening
Wisdom alone can’t fix an unjust world...but a sharpened & surrendered life can change more than you'd think.
Solomon underlines the unfair, upside-down things we see in this world, then gives us a picture of a dull ax. In this episode, we talk about the need to seek God first, why training really does matter, and how we do our part while relying on God for strength and power. We end with a convicting question that is super important to consider.

1. Where in your life are you “dull,” and what would sharpening that area look like practically?
2. Is there anything giving you a guilty conscience that may be neutralizing your effectiveness for God?
3. What aren’t you letting God have ALL of (ex: finances, timing, relationships, image, etc.)?
