[…] And if they're able to do that, then they have good executive functioning skills. So young kiddos don't. They need to be taught. They need to figure it out. Certainly, kiddos with learning challenges need to be taught. So it's that teaching component that is how we build these skills. And the way you do it is that you need to use support that is removed in stages, not all at once, not by just being told, but by being scaffolded. And I think most parents and teachers thinks it works like this. Kids turn a certain age, they just get it, then they don't need reminders anymore. And if they still need reminders, there's frustration, there's discipline often. […]
