Dear Friends,
I recently watched a powerful podcast* that focused on Hamasâs attack on Israel, which occurred on October 7, 2023. And the Lord used the message to prompt me toward todayâs topic.
How did Israel begin?
Many of you likely know, but itâs always beneficial to review the facts. Because when we return to the beginning, sometimes new details emerge. If anything, our knowledge can be strengthened by Scriptureâs account of Israelâs formation.
Please join me for this episode.
Rather than considering Old Testament passages, our three main portions are found in the New Testament. Weâll reflect on Genesis 22, but Romans and Hebrews supply our primary texts.
God works through people.
He singled out Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in relation to Israel. And every human being is blessed as a result. Please join me to discover how.
In Christâs Love,
Emily

What Kind of Friend Are You? | Nathan the Prophet
Dear Friends,
God showed up in a special way for this episode of Indestructible Life.
Last week included lots of activity because my sweet and generous daughter-in-love invited me to attend a womenâs conference with her. I worked hard to accomplish responsibilities ahead of time, but I couldnât get this episode recorded before traveling out of town.
I wasnât even sure about the subject matter until Tuesday.
So, I left for the conference on Wednesday, planning to record this video on Sunday. Which I did⌠except I still didnât know exactly what to share. Iâd pondered the Scripture passage on Saturday with the intention of creating a message outline/notes.
Yet that didnât happen.
I couldnât determine anything substantial to share. I later contemplated other topics than the one the Holy Spirit had impressed upon me. And I seriously considered scheduling an encore presentation of a popular episode from the past.
However, something changed.
On Sunday afternoon, I decided to prepare for the video. I moved forward with an idea to sit in my office, hit record, and completely rely on the Holy Spiritâs leading. Because I had nothing other than the Scripture passage and a title.
And you know what? God showed up!
I shouldnât be surprised. Of course He showed up. But it was an amazing experience to begin a message basically empty and allow the Holy Spirit to give me thoughts and words as I spoke. Praise be to the Lord!
May you be blessed by this message about friendship.
God revealed two specific lessons from Nathan the prophetâs story, which I trust will impact you. And if this episode resonates with you, please leave a comment below. We can rejoice together, knowing God orchestrated the entire message!
In Christâs Love,
Emily

How to Act as a Christian
And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. âActs 11:26, NKJV
Dear Friends,
What does is actually look like to be a Christian?
While the world offers a plethora of opinions on how to live this life, how to be a good person, how to attain success, and more, none of those goals holds eternal value. Yet becoming a Christian and living as a Christian lasts forever.
Scripture teaches Christians how to behave.
The Bible enlightens us. We might think we have the Christian walk figured out, but in reality, we can re-read the same portions of Godâs Word and still learn something new. We can still be convicted and challenged. We can still grow.
Romans 12:9-21 is very direct.
I hope youâll join me for this message and listen through to the end. Godâs Word contains power to change us, and following the Lordâs instructions adds value to our lives: peace, purpose, and so much more.
May the repetition of Scripture in this video penetrate your heart.
It has reverberated in mine. God has impacted me through His timeless word, and I pray He will reach into your heart the same way. Because identifying as a Christian is one thing, but acting like one is an everyday, ongoing process.
God is conforming us to âthe image of His Sonâ (Romans 8:29).
According to Vineâs Expository Dictionary, Christian signifies âan adherent of Jesus.â (https://www.blueletterbible.org/search/Dictionary/viewTopic.cfm?topic=VT0000457) So the way we behave reflects on our Lord. Letâs lean on the Holy Spirit to produce the Christlikeness within us that we yearn for.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. âGalatians 5:25
In Christâs Love,
Emily
