George Fetner of GFATS and TenMileRide
To kick off Season 2 of Indigo Sounds, the podcast behind this newsletter, I had an excellent chat with George Fetner of George Fetner and the Strays (GFATS) and his new improv-rock band, TenMileRide (https://open.spotify.com/artist/2O0B0ABgIWKJCoYp0MMgT6?si=bEiYF3Y3RPGGvXRxQvr7IQ). They’ll play this Thursday night at New Brookland Tavern with local vets and future podcast guests, E.Z. Shakes.
The theme of the next 12 episodes will be “Phases,” a topic that will come up on each cast.

Dylan Dickerson, Brett Nash, Marshall Brown
SHOWS showed up to the pod before a Dear Blanca practice last week ahead of their tour with the Sloppy boys. Dylan Dickerson (SHOWS, Dear Blanca), Brett Nash (8 bands we learned including SHOWS and Dear Blanca), and Marshall Brown (SHOWS, holy pine, etc.) performed a new song called “Marshman” and then Marsh dipped out to go to the Bavarian Circus and Dylan and Brett hung out for a chat.
Here are five memorable quotes as chosen by ChatGPT
* "The first song you ever wrote bro"
* "That's the sound of my brain trying to think about that"
* "These lyrics are like verse two is very similar to verse one but it's a little..."
* "He has some heavily cheesy lyrics that I love, you know, like I leaned into that"
* "Music that doesn't put out any music; they're just not putting it out"

Daniel Machado, Marshall Brown, Michael Crawford
A few weeks ago Daniel Machado texted me and said he had a new band with Marshall Brown on bass and Michael Crawford on drums. We haven’t talked much over the past few years, so it was great to catch up with Daniel and the guys. We talked about Creed, and from there dove into Daniel’s new music, a rock, guitar, based venture. This one might feel more like an eavesdrop.

Justin Osborne + Hunter Park
On this week's Podcast Justin Osborne of Susto and Hunter Park of SRFW stopped by the studio for a quick Wednesday afternoon chat. They were in town playing a show together at New Brookland Tavern and we just ended up catching up for the most part. We've mostly been out of touch the past few years, but have worked together so many times filming live sessions, booking shows, and traveling to a couple SXSW's together that we needed to knock some small talk out.
