Paham tradisional tentang al–quran telah selesai dan dianggap final oleh para sarjana keislaman tradisionalis dengan mengambil sumber penelitian dan reverensi dari sumber sumber tradisional pula, dengan metode yang dikenal dengan isnad atau rangkaian mata rantai periwayatan. Namun, di akhir tahun 1970-an para sarjana keislaman yang berasal dari luar Arab baik kesarjanaan yang berasal dari Barat maupun yang bukan, mulai mengidentifikasi adanya problematika dan mulai merevisi karya – karya tersebut. Para revisionis ini meragukan keotentikan proses kanonisasi tersebut terlebih lagi mushaf tersebut ditadwin setelah wafatnya Nabi.

Eps. 4. Membincang Wacana Liberalisme Islam Di Indonesia
Bersama ustadz Badrul Jihad, Ketua Al Abror Center Perwakilan Khusus Nahdlatul Wathan Mesir, kita akan bahas bagaimana perkembangan liberalisme di dalam ormas ormas Islam di Indonesia seperti di Nahdlatul Ulama, Nahdlatul Wathan, dll. Beliau mengkritisi budaya taklid (dan anti-liberalisme) dalam praktik beragama kebanyakan masyarakat Indonesia, termasuk dalam ormas-ormas Islam yang tersebut di atas. Beliau mengatakan bahwa dalam budaya intelektual Islam Indonesia, masih sedikit sekali yang membahas mengenai isu-isu kontemporer. Dalam dunia NU, dikenal istilah kelompok "post-tradisionalisme" yang berisi orang-orang yang "liberal" dan berkemajuan. Dalam ormas-ormas yang lain seperti NW masih belum di temukan kelompok demikian. Di harapkan kedepannya akan lahir kader kader Nahdlatul Wathan yang "liberal" dalam art berkemajuan dan memiliki semangat intelektualitas yang tinggi.

Eps. 3 (2/2) Menyoal Kontekstualisasi Hukum Islam Poligami
Salah satu gugatan terjadi atas hukum-hukum Islam yang terkait dengan keluarga, khususnya poligami, karena dinilai tidak sesuai lagi dengan perubahan zaman yang mengharuskan kesetaraan laki-laki dengan wanita. Untuk menjawab itu, beberapa pihak mengajukan gagasan pembaharuan hukum Islam dengan dua epistemologi utama: penafsiran kontekstual atas nas-nas agama dan asas kemaslahatan. Dengan penafsiran kontekstual atas nas tentang poligami lahirlah kesimpulan bahwa poligami sesungguhnya bukan misi utama Islam. Misi utama Islam tentang pernikahan adalah monogami. Adanya teks-teks yang seolah-olah mengizinkan poligami tidak lain hanyalah sebentuk strategi Islam untuk menghilangkan poligami secara gradual. Namun kontekstualisasi hukum poligami masih menyisakan ruang kritik dimana kajian atas konteks itu masih belum obyektif dan cenderung menjustifikasi wacana dominan tentang relasi gender.
