Rick Fleming - Walked Away from a Professional Baseball Contract to Become One of the United States' Principals
<p>On this episode, we interview Rick Fleming, or as I've always known him, Coach Rick. Outside of my parents, Coach Rick probably had the most influence on me during my youth, both athletically and as a person. In his mid-twenties, he decided to leave a professional baseball contract on the table to begin a career in education in Miami, where he and his family lost everything in Hurricane Andrew. It turns out leaving baseball to lead students and educators might have been the right decision as he has been named a finalist for Florida Principal of the Year for his development of a top program at West Shore Jr./Sr. High, which is the 4th ranked school in Florida and the 57th in the entire United States. Coach Rick is an incredible person with a lifetime of success that he shares so much of in this interview.
