what do you want? | episode 002

Jesus, in John 1:38, asks the first disciples: "What do you want?" This simple question has caused me to examine some of my desires. That’s what episode 002 of Ink to Audio is all about.

Takeaways:

* Our desires are often shaped by imitation, so we need to be mindful of our influences.

* Jesus acknowledges our longings but doesn't always immediately satisfy them the way we think He should. Instead, He invites us to "come and see," encouraging us to follow Him.

* When we accept Jesus' invitation to "come and see," He has the power to change who we are and show us greater things than we initially imagined.

As we reflect on this message, I encourage you to take some time this week to prayerfully consider what you truly want in your spiritual life. Ask God to reveal His desires for you and to align your heart with His will.

This is a public episode. prayer is about presence | episode 001

For the first “official” episode of Ink to Audio, I’m talking about the vital importance of prayer. I’ve faced (or am facing) a lot of challenges in cultivating a meaningful prayer life… Listen in to find out what I’m doing about it.

Takeaways:

- Prayer is about more than asking for things; it's about being still and quiet before God, allowing Him to speak to us and transform us.

- Consistency in prayer, even when it feels difficult or unproductive, is key to spiritual growth and hearing God's voice.

- My tendency to seek instant gratification or immediate answers can hinder my prayer life. I need to cultivate patience and persistence in my communication with God.

I encourage each you to examine your own prayer life. Are you making time to be still before God? Are you allowing Him to speak to you, not just listing out your own requests?

Prayer is a journey of growing closer to Jesus. It's all about showing up and being present with Him day after day.

Thanks for listening to Ink to Audio! Ink to Audio | Episode 000

As promised, here’s the trailer episode for the audio extension of Sipping Coffee & Spilling. I’m calling it Ink to Audio.

In episode 000, I briefly share why I wanted to produce my own podcast and what I plan to do with it going forward. I hope you’ll find it helpful and I hope you’ll let me know what you think!

With Substack, trailer episodes seem to be necessary in order to submit your RSS feed to the main podcast platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Once that’s done, I’ll update this post with links to the show on those platforms and every new episode will be published there, but you’ll always get it here first.

Thanks for listening to Ink to Audio!
