<p class="whitespace-normal break-words"><strong>French that speaks to you.</strong></p> <p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Salut, c'est Hugo! I created this podcast in 2017 when I was teaching at the French institute in Warsaw, Poland. My goal was to show my students that they could learn French naturally simply by listening to it. 30 million downloads later, I think we're onto something!</p> <p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Granted, it's not a magic bullet. This method still requires hundreds of hours of practice. That's why I'm doing my best to make these episodes as engaging as possible. I want you to get sucked into the topics so deep you forget that you're "learning French". You'll quickly realize that you're capable of understanding a lot more French than you think.</p> <p class="whitespace-normal break-words">The episodes get progressively more challenging, so I'd recommend starting from the oldest ones and working your way up. La France se présente souvent comme un pays d'égalité. La Révolution de 1789 a aboli les privilèges, la devise nationale est "Liberté, égalité, fraternité", et l'école publique est gratuite pour tous. Sur le papier, tout le monde a sa chance. Dans cet épisode, Ingrid s'intéresse à ce que cachent ces beaux principes. En partant du livre de la philosophe Alice de Rochechouart, Privilèges. Ce qu'il nous reste à abolir, elle explore comment la bourgeoisie est sortie gagnante de la Révolution — et comment, depuis, une nouvelle classe dominante a su se maintenir au sommet. Au programme : un retour sur l'Ancien Régime et la nuit du 4 août 1789, puis un regard sur ce que les chiffres nous disent aujourd'hui de la méritocratie à la française, et enfin une réflexion sur les mécanismes — politiques et médiatiques — qui permettent à ce système de se perpétuer. E194 Élections 2026 : qui dirige les villes françaises ?

Les élections municipales viennent de se terminer. Premier tour le 15 mars, second tour le 22 mars. Partout en France, les habitants ont choisi les personnes qui vont diriger leurs villes pour les six prochaines années. Ces élections, c'est souvent difficile à suivre : il y a beaucoup de villes, beaucoup de partis, beaucoup de stratégies d'alliances entre les deux tours. Et en plus, les médias ont tendance à s'en servir pour parler surtout des présidentielles de 2027. Alors aujourd'hui, Hugo et Ingrid font le point plus calmement. Dans une première partie, ils vous expliquent les bases : comment fonctionnent les élections municipales, qui peut voter, comment les maires sont élus. Ensuite, ils analysent les grandes dynamiques politiques de ce scrutin : la résistance des partis traditionnels, la montée de la France insoumise, la consolidation du Rassemblement national. Et pour finir, ils vous racontent comment ils ont vécu ces élections depuis Toulouse et Marseille — deux villes qui illustrent bien les différentes configurations qui ont pu se jouer ce printemps.
