[…] I try and make that clear when communicating these results so that it's clear that we're referring to how the index has changed rather than how a set of populations has changed or trying to avoid the misconception that this might apply to all of biodiversity or all of species, for example. So it's actually the index that has changed by 73%. And that is arrived at through a calculation of a weighted average of population trends. And there are thousands of vertebrate populations within the index itself, but this is the result of a weighted average. So the LPI only counts vertebrates, right? So fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals? […]
