Podcast Overview

If you're outwardly thriving or coping but inwardly running on empty, you're not alone. And you're in the right place. Inside Out Smile is a weekly podcast about inner skills and the impact that ripples beyond you. Each short episode is a warm, honest conversation about personal transformation, self awareness, spirituality, and emotional wellbeing. The inner work that actually moves the needle. No motivational shouting. No five-step formulas. Just a friend in your ear who's looked at human wellbeing from every angle, rambling through real experience, real stories, and practices that actually work. Raw. Unfiltered. Honest. My hope is that each episode is a little burst of light into your week. I believe in your potential. I believe each of us is special and unique. And I believe that inner work is how we make the world a better place. Tune in, breathe out, and let's grow from the inside out.

Why Watching an Old TV Show Made Me Think About Time (353)

In today's episode, I chat about one of my fave TV shows. What happens when you rewatch a show you've loved since you were younger and suddenly feel it differently? In this episode, I talk about revisiting thirtysomething, a show I fell in love with at the pilot and have watched through dental school, and ever since. Seeing the actors age in real time cracked open something bigger: today, a reflection on how short life actually is, how our bodies age no matter what we do, and what it means to live with real presence instead of denial so we can experience true joy.

Here's the video I mentioned,it's the perspective of a mulim undertaker :

https://youtu.be/RH75dA1-DJc?is=X1GKoq3UrHZ9-XcP

If you enjoy this episode please rate, review and/or share! Thank you!

With peace and love always,

Amber

xoxo

Why Is Everyone So Difficult Lately? The Real Reason People Have Changed (352)

Have you noticed people seem harder to deal with lately? Shorter tempers, less patience, less awareness of anyone else in the room? You're not imagining it and it's not that people are becoming worse. In this episode, I break down why human interaction feels so much harder right now, using two real moments from my own week: 2 strangers who walked straight through my personal space on a busy common when the rest of it was empty, and a friend's story about rising tension at work.

I unpack what i believe are the real reasons behind this shift, cognitive overload, the loss of everyday in-person social practice, stress narrowing our attention, and a social contract that's become far less explicit than it used to be.

Then I offer a reframe: what looks like difficulty in other people is often depletion, not character. And I share two practical shifts, one for how you interpret other people's behaviour, and one for checking your own capacity, that change how these everyday frictions land.

If you've been wondering why people feel more difficult, ruder, or more self-absorbed lately, this episode gives you the psychology behind it and a way to navigate it that doesn't leave you resentful or drained.

With peace and love always,

Amber

xoxo

My Neighbour, The Spider Catcher And The One That Got Away Twice (351)

This week on Inside Out Smile, it's a lighter, sillier episode from me! A real-life tale of an eight-legged "intruder" that took up residence in the bathroom, a valiant neighbour armed with a spider catcher, and one particularly clever spider that just would not stay caught. Along the way: a whole spider family moving in, a professor friend confirming a spider-bite mystery, foxes wreaking havoc on the garden paving, and a stray magnet providing an unplanned sound effect.

Just a reminder that good neighbours make the small stuff easier, that it's okay to hit your limit and ask for help, and that even the tiniest creatures deserve a bit of grace. Raw, unscripted, and very much as-is, as always!

In this episode:

The spider that escaped not once, but twice

Calling in backup: why asking for help isn't a failure

An unexpected spider family reunion in the kitchen

Dad's mystery spider bites, solved

Foxes, collapsed paving, and a bird bath on hold

With peace and love always,

Amber

xoxo
